Higher education: DUHS holds seminar on quality assurance

HEC requires all affiliated universities to develop a standards system and implement quality enhancement procedures.

To highlight the importance of quality education, the Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) organised a seminar titled “Quality Assurance in Higher Education” in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) on Tuesday.


The quality assurance department of the commission is responsible for the systematic implementation of quality enhancement procedures.

In the opening address Prof. Azam Ali Khwaja, the managing director and the advisor of Quality Assurance and Learning Innovation at HEC, said that all universities in the country were provided a mandate for developing such mechanisms.

DUHS set up a quality enhancement cell. Other measures include ongoing teacher evaluations, an online feedback system for the students and faculty, academic audits of programmes through teaching portfolios and guidance and counselling for students.
