Doctors in Balochistan on strike against PMA leader killing

Doctors have boycotted Outdoor Patient Departments (OPD) at all public hospitals on the call of the PMA.

QUETTA: Doctors at several hospitals across Balochistan have gone on strike against the killing of President of the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Balochistan chapter Dr Mazar Baloch, Express 24/7 reported on Monday.

Doctors have boycotted Outdoor Patient Departments (OPD) at all public hospitals on the call of the PMA.

The association has also summoned a meeting today to decide on their future course of action.

Dr Mazar, an orthopedic surgeon and assistant professor at the Bolan Medical Complex (BMC) Teaching Hospital, received eight bullet wounds when armed men ambushed his vehicle on Masjid Road in Quetta.

He was shifted to Karachi from Quetta as a result of his critical state. However, he succumbed to his injuries at the Aga Khan Hospital, Karachi.
