Squash: Asghar cleared to work with PSF

KARACHI: Irfan Asghar can continue as the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) secretary despite the year-long ban imposed on him by the World Squash Federation (WSF).

Asghar was banned earlier this month after he alleged that the WSF president was behind a visa delay that prevented Pakistan from taking part in the World Junior Championship.

"Asghar can continue with the PSF but he's banned from all kinds of activities with the WSF," said WSF Chief Executive Andrew Shelley. "He has appealed against the decision and a tribunal will review that." PSF Vice-President Qamar Zaman, meanwhile, confirmed that a search for Asghar's replacement has started since his term was due to finish at the end of the year.
