
City District Government of Lahore on Saturday launched a special dengue brigade consisting of 20 emergency vehicles to respond to citizen’s complaints about spray and fogging for dengue mosquito in their neighbourhoods. Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated the service.
Separately, Sharif announced that training in dengue fever prevention and treatment would be mandatory for doctors at private and trust hospitals. He said private hospitals would bear the expenses for their doctors. He said government would help trust hospitals with the training of their doctors.
Meanwhile, seven more people died in the province from dengue fever over the last 24 hours raising the death toll from the disease to 224, of which 200 have died in Lahore. As many as 261 people were diagnosed with dengue fever in the province in the last 24 hours. Of these, 218 were in Lahore.
