Admissions: Notices issued to education aide

Student says although she passed test with good marks, respondents were preferring other candidates who had influence.

Restraining the additional secretary of education from sending the result of a test conducted at DJ Science College for admission to the Lahore University of Engineering and Technology, the High Court of Sindh (SHC) ordered him on Friday to appear on Saturday.


Chief Justice Musheer Alam and Justice Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi heard the lawyer for Sameena Rashid Laghari, who passed her intermediate exam from the Mari Gas Higher Secondary School, Daharki. She scored an A grade and sat the admissions test for the Bachelor of Engineering programme with three options, BE PG, BE Geologist, City Regional Planning.

She said that although she passed the test with good marks, the respondents were preferring other candidates who had influence or were rich. The bench restrained him from dispatching a list of successful candidates to LEUT.
