Torture Case: Case against cop on Sharif’s directive

MULTAN: A case has been registered against a police constable accused of subjecting a woman to torture. The woman had reportedly lost her eyesight. Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had taken notice of Gulgasht police constable’s Khursheed Kalro assault on Najia Beg. Gulgasht SHO Nasrullah Warriach said raids were underway to arrest the accused official. According to details, the constable wanted to marry the woman and had forced her husband Malik Shabir to divorce her after 16 years of their marriage. On her refusal to marry him, he had broken into her house and tortured her with iron rods.
