ANKARA: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, who is currently visiting Turkey, said on Thursday that Pakistan is committed to bringing peace and stability in the region. She was talking to senior journalists in Ankara on Thursday and briefed them about latest situation in Pakistan. Awan emphasised the need of media exchange programmes in both the public and private sectors between the two countries. “Pakistani society is very tolerant and enlightened, but unfortunately true image of the country is not depicted in the media,” she said. Responding to a question regarding the role of Pakistan in the war on terror, the minister said: “Pakistan is, and shall remain, part of the solution, not part of the problem.”
