Two-day holiday: SBP awaits government notification

SBP awaiting for exempting key banking branches from the two-day holidays in consultation with the central bank.

ISLAMABAD: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) is awaiting the notification from the federal government for exempting key banking branches from the two-day holidays in consultation with the central bank. “We are waiting for the notification from the federal government for exempting key banking branches from the two weekly holidays and as and when we will receive the notification SBP will announce in this regard”, SBP spokesman Syed Wasimuddin said. It may be mentioned here that the Federal Cabinet on Wednesday approved observing two weekly holidays as part of its energy conservation strategy.
