PML-N's Khizar Khagga in pole position to win Sahiwal by-election
Khagga got 40,185 votes while Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) and Pakistan Peoples Party joint candidate Muzzaffar Shah came in second with a little under 21,000 votes.
Polling in Sahiwal started at eight in the morning as scheduled and ended at five in the evening.
Some polling stations were suspended during the day due to scuffles between opposing parties, but the police were able to calm down the situation.
The seat had been vacated after PML-N’s MPA Walayat Shah Khagga was disqualified by the Lahore High Court for his fake degree.
PML-N then nominated his son Khizir Hayat to contest the by-elections against Muzaffar Shah Khagga.
Earlier on Monday, Senior Federal Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi had said that PML-Q will continue its alliance with the PPP and the two parties will contest the next general elections together.
Elahi said the two parties would support each other’s candidates against PML-N.

@mirza sir it was pmlq seat which they have won in 2008 election.The right wing vote will never vote for pmlq ppp alliance in next general election and vice versa.Everyone is targeting nawaz sharif.Zardari,Imran,Chaudhry and altaf huusain all have one common agenda to prevent nawaz sharif from coming into power. The people of Pakistan in common and people of punjab in particular they have to vote for pmln.The people of punjab voted for ZAB in 1970 which resulted in division of our country.AT that time PML was divided n there was no leader from punjab.They have to vote wipe out ppp by vote in next election. Flawed PML (N)
Those who think that PTI contested the by-elections should correct themselves.. PTI has categorically stated that there was no candidate from PTI in the Sahiwal by-election... So if PML-N wants to celebrate, let them.... I just appeal to people that please open your eyes and your mind.. please, it's high time. PTI and IMRAN KHAN, HIMMAT-E-MARDAN, MADAD-E-KHUDA
I do not think that any opposition party took this election seriously. PML-N took this seat back through Patwaries and by using all government machinery. During the general PML-N will not have such control in the entire country.

That's a great victory. Thanks to Almighty God. I strongly beleive only party which can save pakistan is PML N. To rescue out from all these crisis pakistan need a leadership which have a good relationship with other countries and i have no doubt Nawaz sharif is the only leader who have skill and quality. God Save Pakistan.
Well this is the trailer of next general election results, Imran is creating the same type of Hype created by Qazi Hussain Ahmed during 1990 elections.I dont know why Imran is being detracked ,his main strength is being uncompromizing on national issues and his charity work,now he is repeating the mistake of bumping into PML N instead of PPP , which should be his target at present.Unless he change his politcal strategy, he risk being another Qazi Hussain.

PTI: no party structure, individualism ( no other spokesperson excepts Imran Khan himself and Haroon Rasheed aka columnist), in past and still and will in future MUSHARAF is his boss, he is going to be in alliance with MUSHARAF & MQM in next election. only party sincere with Pakistan is PML(N), forget what Nawaz Shareef did in past ( before exile). His stand for democracy, judiciary & on foreign policy is clear. since 2008 punjab govt is running without having any corruption case, and at federal level every party is involved in corruption and their cases are in courts right now. difference is clear, next election Insha Allah will vote PML(N).
PML-N is equally corrupt and inept as is PPP. You can judge the sincerity of Nawaz Sharif with his assets worth billions of dollars abroad and the way he ran away to KSA after 99 coup... We are stupids who still think that either PML-N, PML-Q or PPP is sincere with us.
And Umar Farooq was not a PTI member, he just had some support from the PTI, this can be checked in the 13 oct News Night Programme on a local News Channel..
Still I think PTI and IMRAN KHAN is the best alternative for Pakistan...

This is rural constituency in which "khaggas" family have absolute aurhority.Imran khan still hav to work hard in rural areas.people barely knows IK here and its policiese.Dont forget rural people have more vote cast ratio than urban.i am looking forward To see IK policiese towards farmers and basic education in rural areas.Unfortunately Only thing that matters here is "Thaana Culture" ..!!!

This is amazingly funny.. that khagga / thaggga won with 40k votes :s and the other got 20k votes.. I wonder if you count ppl who voted they won't be more then 25k.. :D Btw this is all Father-son politics .. they are destined to win the seats .. still no fair election .. no hope of change.. Nawaz league's success in this constituency is abolutely of no significance.It was PML-N's seat and it came back to the same family. So no big thing for nawaz league.
Why PTI didn't contest so Imran Khan could test the waters? PML-N victory shows they are still the strongest party in Punjab. People will reject PML-Q/PPP alliance in next elections. Imran just talks, Shabaz Sharif does his best to deliver.
