LAHORE: Civil and additional sessions judges in Lahore announced a 15 day strike after lawyers forced a sessions judge out of his chambers today.

The lawyers also took out a rally from Aiwan e Adl to the Sessions Courts to protest against what they called ‘obnoxious’ behaviour of Sessions Judge, Zawar Ahmed Sheikh, with lawyers.

Police were called in to maintain order at the Sessions Court. Lower courts in Lahore were closed following the protest.

Tension between the Lahore Bar Association and the sessions judge intensified on Friday, after the Bar passed a resolution demanding the transfer of Zawar Ahmed Sheikh.
