The Lahore High Court on Wednesday gave five days to Pakistan Railways to ensure payment of salaries to 60 legal advisors of the organisation.

Justice Shaikh Azmat Saeed warned Railways additional finance director Abdul Majeed that it was his last chance to pay the salaries and that he would be imprisoned in case he failed to pay the salaries in five days.

Majeed earlier told the court that he would ensure that salaries were paid to the petitioners in three days.

Advocate Arshad Virk and other petitioners had requested the court to direct Pakistan Railways to release their two years’ unpaid salaries. The hearing was adjourned till October 17.
