KARACHI:

Pakistan Railways has terminated 75 train services and 28 more are likely to meet the same fate. An officer of Pakistan Railways said that the company used to have 260 train services , out of which 220 were for passengers and 40 were goods trains.

Only 157 trains will now cater to a population of 180 million. The chairman of workers union of Pakistan Railways, Manzoor Ahmed Razi, said that the reduction of trains will overload the trains even more as additional compartments are attached to them and cause more mid-journey breakdowns.
