Riot Raid: 41 booked for attacking police

FAISALABAD: Satellite Town police have registered a case against 41 people for helping a proclaimed offender (PO) escape from police custody on Monday. According to the police, Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) M Arshad and a police conducted a raid in Mauza Korian to arrest a proclaimed offender Falak Sher. The police succeeded in nabbing Sher but Ejaz, Bashir and their relatives attacked them with sticks and clubs. During the ensuing clash, the assailants succeeded in freeing Sher and drove out the police team from the area. Police officials said that the attackers also stole two mobile phones and Rs7,198 in cash. A case was registered under various sections of the law against 26 nominated and 15 unknown persons for attacking the police.
