ISLAMABAD:

Member Disaster Risk Reduction National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Ahmed Kamal has said that the government is taking all necessary measures and devising plans to provide relief goods to flood victims.

Talking to PTV on Monday, he said that nearly 50,000 to 55,000 food ration packs are being distributed in all flood-hit districts of Sindh on daily basis. He said the government has a thorough plan to provide relief goods to flood victims up to 15 October and NDMA will review the plan in coming days. Ahmed said that federal government is sending a team to assess damage in the area which will submit its complete report to government in the current month.

“We shall assess the exact amount needed for recovery after receiving the report,” he added. He said that NDMA have advance arrangements for the ration supplies till October 15 and review the same after every couple of days to work out new advance planning. This process has been underway for the last six to seven weeks and we would continue this process as long as the people require ration supplies, he said.
