Run-ins: Rickshaw driver beaten in street
A rickshaw driver on contract with a private school arrived to pick up children and nearly run them over.

Five people beat up a rickshaw driver for speeding in the district on Saturday. According to police officials, the incident occurred at Munir Chowk, when a rickshaw driver on contract with a private school, Qaiser Mehmood, arrived to pick up children and nearly run them over. Several local residents apprehended Mehmood and beat him up after Matric students’ Yasir and Nasir’s sister narrowly escaped being run over. The incident enraged the two brothers and several bystanders who beat up the driver until he lost consciousness. The man was sent to the hospital and is in serious condition.
