Anti-encroachment drive: Provincial government recovers land

The auto workshop and a minibus stand were encroaching upon the seven-kanal land, officials said.

RAWALPINDI: The Rawal Town Administration (RTA) retrieved valuable state land on Saturday as the drive against the land grabbers got rigorous, officials said. The enforcement branch of the RTA, headed by the Town Administrator Saif Anwar Jappa, raided an “illegal” workshop near Rawalpindi Medical College and razed the structure. The auto workshop and a minibus stand were encroaching upon the seven-kanal land, officials said. The enforcement branch was ordered to remove the encroachments, a Rawal Town official said. The value of the land is worth millions of rupees.
