"The cooperation we have with Pakistan is extremely important in terms of our national security objectives, in terms of protecting Americans, in terms of taking the fight to al Qaeda, and that's why we continue to work with the Pakistanis and try to build on that cooperation," Jay Carney, President Obama's spokesman said.

The White House press secretary was responding to a question at the daily briefing in the backdrop of the latest strains in US-Pakistan ties, appearing after Washington's assertions that Pakistani security organisations backed militant Haqqani group's activities in Afghanistan.
Islamabad has strongly rejected any such assertions.
At the briefing, Carney noted the United States – which has relied on Pakistan for enforcing security along the porous Afghan border as well as for transporting NATO and US supplies to landlocked Afghanistan in the decade-old conflict – has an "important" relationship with Pakistan.
"We have had enormous successes through our cooperation with Pakistan," the spokesman said, echoing President Obama's remarks at a press conference on Thursday that the US could not have succeeded in crushing al Qaeda in Pakistan-Afghanistan border region without Islamabad's cooperation.

However, Carney's comments also acknowledged disagreements existing on some issues between the two countries. "We have also made clear that we have issues with Pakistan at times, and that it is a complicated relationship. And I think the President addressed that very clearly and fully yesterday in his press conference."
On Friday, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said in an interview that the intelligence and security organisations of the two countries are rebuilding their ties and revealed that Islamabad has captured five al Qaeda suspects.

No Uncle Sam!! Yankees need to go home and leave us alone.
We always ask US to respect our Army and GOP, but did we ever had a honest look into their allegations against ISI ? Did we ever as a nation thanked them for Flood relief operations that they did last year or did we ever appreciated any positives ?
we need to change our perception too .... what they see on TV is angry mobs/ protesters burning USA flags so how can we even expect them to respect us ? blaming a policy or certain part of US Gov is another thing but burning down their flag is offensive.
If Pakistan were in USA shoe and USA was in Pakistan's than we would ve bombed USA back to stone age long time ago .... all those who think that we are better of isolated than please think again cos that ll effect Pakistan most.
Assalam-o-Allaikum Warahmatullah. In other words co-operation with Pakistan is the time of the hour for you US' leaders to stay for a long time in Afghanistan.Admit this reality before the world because US' troops can stay in Afghanistan for a long time without Pakistan's forces' deployment on Afghan border to control the Taliban/Alqaeda fighters' to enter Afghanistan and furtively co-operation with Pakistan has been compulsion and coercion for you.
I was reading earlier on another editorial, that had a lot of subtle indications for Mr. Obama being stuck on a previous United States failure that happened when Obama would have been 3 years old. The writer had quit a few references that I found to be credible. Two of which I recal myself. The Vietnam War which America got it's behind kicked by a forth-rate country. Obama during his his Campaign talked with the 2 senetors he was accompanied by, what the discussed on the flights going to and from Mr Obama kept asking, "what can we learn about Vietnam that should not be applied in Afghanistan." It is not a funny situation but I could not help the chuckles I got out of reading some of his seemingly endless obsession to compare the two wars. A few More.. January 2009, he stressed "Afganistan is not Vietnam" but with that clear self warned statement he somehow suggested only an increase in US troops will eliminate the chance of the Taliban. I love my Country, but, I wonder when we will be able to accept Humility, and pride. It seems between the different views and magnifying glasses that there is no solution. Pakistan is pressured and used enough. There is culture and communication differences, that need to rest. If you look at the big picture it is like a bunny rabbit jumping from country to country...Mr. Obama Allow me to "as they say for those of us who have served in the Military and those current" Break this down Barney style for you. The Vietnam War ended decades ago. We had no reason to be there, We got our * beat. That is the comparrison you may have this inclination to. A message to pull out.
If what the Jay Carney, spokesman of president Obama has said is true then why every Tom, Dick and Harry of US armed forces, government and their Ambassasodr in Islamabad is busy in Pakistan bashing. I would like to tell all in America that you have proved not worthy of all the sacrifices we gave for you since day one as your friend. Perhaps for you the meaning of friendship is to use someone, pay some Dollars and ditch him at the time he needs you most. Each and every fibre of Pakistani society is torn in it's fight against war on terror and the Americans have the audacity to tell us to do more. I will again say had we taken a bold stand on Raymond Davis case or sent back their Ambassador for his insolent utterings in the Month of March 2011, no one would have dared to say do more. Even today if we demand that car and it's driver which killed a Pakistani in the Raymond Davis case these Americans will know the value of friendship. For these people friendship may be slavery but for us it is mutual respect with dignity.
i cant understand what us wants! on one hand there are statements like this and on the other hand there is either an act or a statement by american of no less stature which puts pakistan in bad stage... whats there strategy.
We have to face the reality. Extremism in Pakistan enjoys an encouraging appeal and is serious threat to peace, stability and prosperity of society. Now, an extremist individual or group, which has forgotten lessons of tolerance taught by Prophet (PBUH) through his practice, decides what is blasphemy and how to execute the sentence. Our social borders are extremely porous and we get influenced easily. Helping USA to get out of Afghanistan and helping Afghanistan- a sovereign country- to get stabilized, in fact, is a policy and process to help ourselves. We must not be myopic or stupid. At the age of 65 years, we still has no Pakistani personality, still we are unable to understand to focus on ourselves. Our national interests could only be served if we are stable, united, harmonious and economically strong. And if we do not have stable neighbors or we do not enjoy an amiable or at least working relationship with them, we will continue to suffer from anarchy. So let us be sensible and that is in our selfish interest.
Its clear: On most vital issues disagreement is complete
On most insignificant issue there is nominal agreement
Thats what I call " perrfect alliance"
then do learn how to respect one country whom u need more... than it needs you..! why should pakistan care about "US interest" ?? it should only care about its own interest..no matter even if a super power is going to die..
