At least 10 students, including seven girls, and a female teacher were expelled from Chenab Public School and Muslim Public School, Dharanwali area of Hafizabad, for being Ahmadis.
“It is extremely unfortunate that my daughters are being deprived of the most basic and fundamental human right such as education … all because of religious intolerance,” Khalil Ahmad, whose three daughters were expelled, told The Express Tribune. “I have no alternative to ensure that their education continues,” he added.
What about the constitutional provisions which ensure equal rights for all? What about the rule of law that says no discrimination can be made on the basis of faith, race, cast and creed, he questions.
“I’ve never seen Christians and students belonging to other religions ever having to deal with such restrictions,” the distraught father says.
“I personally opposed the expulsion on the basis of faith,” Muslim Public School Principal Yasir Abbas responds when contacted by The Express Tribune.
“This is not my decision … the entire village unanimously pressed me to expel all Ahmadis from the school, or else they would forcibly shut the school down,” he added.
A public meeting held in Dharanwali recently was spreading hatred against Ahmadis, Jamaat Ahmadiyya Pakistan spokesperson Saleemuddin says, adding that expulsion came in the aftermath of the intolerance that some religious preachers were bent on evoking amongst locals in the area.
“They went so far as to say that they would never allow for an Ahmadi to be buried in their graveyard, let alone allow an Ahmadi to study in a school with their children,” Saleemuddin alleges.
Soon after the hate speech, ten Ahmadi students and a teacher were expelled from local schools.
The Punjab government’s initiative allowing people to register for schools online makes it mandatory for one to disclose their religion – whether they are Muslim or Non-Muslim. “This was never the case previously. It’s very simply a calculated move to subject the Ahmadiyya community to discrimination and deprive them of their right to education,” Saleemuddin says.
Ahmadis never refer to themselves as “Non-Muslim”, but that doesn’t keep them from being kept away from educational institutions. Similarly, for the first time ever, they’ve introduced this system where religion is displayed on the Roll Number slips. “It’s like they’re making a conscious effort to mentally torture us,” he says.

When USA , UK or any other country detains or interrogate muslims on some charges then we say that they hate muslims, while we do the same too. dnt blame others for hating islam, we ourselves hate islam, THAT IS THE BITTER TRUTH
@Tariq Dear Tariq. For you. https://www.alislam.org/topics/jesus/
@Tariq Dear Tariq. The answer to your question is also available on the alislam website you referred to. Please search whenever you have time. I copied the direct links here but our dear moderator may be decided not to put them here.
The moderate minded people of Pakistan and Punjab should rise against this tyranny. Otherwise it will be "now or never".
@saad: I am still very confused with the last prophet doctrine by Muslims. I f Mohammad was the lat prophet then what will be the rank of the Jesus Christ who is still alive waiting to be descended on the earth. Will he be a prophet for Christians( we are also waiing for him) or he will be the prohet of Muslims. Can some one clarify.
@Mohsin: I have friends who are Ahmadis, and I saw them no different than other muslims. They read the same Quran, they pray five times a day, and their Kalama is the same as other muslims. I think you should go to the following website and find out all their believes and doctrines. " www.alislam.org". One should educated him self before writing some thing.
@Mohsin Dear Mohsin. For you http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQ3Ng-aBWA0
@Mohsin Dear Mohsin. I will again say that the websites Irshad.org and other anti-ahmadiyya websites you are referring to are full of lies and twisted facts and they have been made just to create hatred against Ahmadi Muslims. And all these lies and propaganda has been responded to and the all responses are available online. I posted a link here to give you one example but our dear moderator may be decided not to post. It would be good if you can please watch this video to see how some one is quoting out of context and twisting facts to create hatred against Ahmadis.
@Pir Ali Raza: wrote Even though i dont consider them muslims ..
Who gave you the authority to judge on the behalf of Allah? Have some fear of Allah, Pir sahib!
Dear Mohsin
I was born a Sunni Muslim. I accepted Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmed of Qadian as the true claimant to the Office of the Imam Mahdi as foretold by our beloved master and Mohsin seal of Prophets, Mohammad (seal means the Authanticator of past & future Prophets, it means the last Shariat Prophet, the teaching being completed by prophet Mohammad (pbuh) and Quran the last book. Only future prophets would have to be the perfect servants of Hazrat Mohammad (pbuh), by virtue of a perfect example of the follower of his teachings thus the true lover of hazrat Mohammad (pbuh), the spiritual father.
( The subject matter of the Verse relating to Khatuman Nabiyeen deals with the enemies of the Holy Prophet taunting the prophet of having no Male issue. The enemies of the Prophet were entertaining the wishful Thinking, that because he has no son to carry out his mission, they would see the end of his religion. However, this did not happen but Allah raised khilafat rashideen (spiritual sons), (rightly guided leaders : they also were recipient of Revelations that were personal to them. Revelations vouchsafed to them were only as a means to guide them, to enfold the the inner teachings of the Quran. Also to guide them in matters relating to discharging there roles of the office of Khilafat in administering & helping to avoid all the attacks of the vast number of enemies that the ummah faced from its enemies (contued 1 of 3
From the actions of this nation, it's no less than the actions of the Jews against the Palestinians. The only difference is that the Jews persecute the Palestinians politically because of difference in Nation but Pakistan is intolerant in matters of Faith. The actions are consistent with the Kufarae Mecca against the early Muslims. It appears to me that the two apparent natural disasters of the recent earthquake and floods in Pakistan are Devine punishment as a result of this nation against the Allahs law in matters of freedom of Faith. Nevertheless, it appears that the Pakistan is blind to these punishments. I fear that because of the lack of notice of Devine punishment, there may be greater punishments in store for Pakistan. It appears that this nation will only move towards Taqwa, to move them into realisation that Allah is displeased with the actions of Pakistan that can be compared to Kufarae Mecca. I advise Pakistan to take stock of their actions and exercise Taqwa! If not, Allah will almost certainly send down worse punishments! In matters of Faith Allah Subhana Ta'Ala has stated: La ikrahafiddeen! Then why does Pakistan create disorder and disturb the peace of it's citizens against Devine law? Have you no fear of Devine retribution?
Mohsin
What a wonderful advise Gen. Pasha has given you! Take heed and have Taqwa!
You cannot be the judge in deciding who is a Muslim and who is not! Only Allah has that pregorartive. If someone claims to be a Muslim and subscribe to the Kalima Tayyaba, its sufficient to the verdict of our beloved & Master the chief of Allahs messengers, Prophet Mohammad (pbuh). Don't dig your feet & argue on a matter that you have right. If you love the messenger Allah Prophet Mohammad whom you claim to follow then follow his example & accept his verdict!
I am sure you are a good Muslim & you may think that you are doing a thing of Merit, but by all standards of the religion of Islam you are doing everything the opposite!
Have Taqwa & don't usurp the powers of Allah!
May Allah have mercy on you & guide you to our beautiful religion of Islam
Yes! I am a Ahmadi Muslim
@Mohsin and yusuf Dear Mohsin and Yusuf. You mentioned that there is no "Wahi" after Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) then can you please tell me how the Imam Mahdi you are still waiting for would know about himself or on what basis he would claim to be Imam Mahdi.
@TAHIR AHMAD:
Sorry to say, the outburst of Nida portraysthat she never got love in her life or discarded by her loved ones and now she is venting her her angerby targetting Ahmedis. That doesn't make any difference sir.
We should love human irrespective of colour, creed, religion and the faith, this is what the Holy Quran says.
I am not an Ahmedi but can say that Ahmedis are far better muslims than us who atleast offer five time prayers and recite the Holy Quran every day.
Mussarat
@Saad:
Ironically, can you please tell me where is the real Islam these days. There is no more Islam after the death of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
However, the left-over Islam is being practicsed by Ahmedis, sorry to say, but very honestly speaking they recite The Holy Quran every day, offer five times prayers, donate zakat and take care of people irrespective of their colour, creed, religion and the Sects.
I am not an Ahmadi, but I never heard any Ahmedi calling founder of their sect as Final and the Last Prophet.(God Forbid).
Hina
@Mohsin and yusuf Dear Mohsin and Yusuf. Further In my earnest desire to obey each and every command of Hazrat Muhammad pbuh who had prophesized about advent of Imam Mahdi and Hazrat Isa AS, had instructed to accept Imam Mahdi and to convey his salam to Masih Mauood, after due verification through Quran and Hadis and finding Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani to be a true claimant, I believe him to be the Promised Masih and Imam Mahdi and a subordinate prophet (Ummati Nabi).
@Mohsin and yusuf Dear Mohsin and Yusuf. I also believe in all Holy books God sent earlier. But I also believe that only Quran is the Shariat for all mankind till the end of this world. It is a complete guide for humanity. God has kept it safe and the version we have is the same as was revealed on Holy Prophet pbuh.
@Mohsin and yusuf Dear Mohsin and Yusuf. your comments and references are only proving my point that you are getting all your knowledge through those anti-ahmadiyya websites which are full of lies. As I wrote before anti-islam people use the same tactics (twisting and tweaking of facts) on the anti-Islam websites. I am an Ahmadi and believe that Hazrat Muhammad PBUP is Prophet of Allah, He is the greatest among Allah's all prophets , He is blessed with many special traits as mentioned in Holy Quran such as Khatamunnabiin, Rahmatullilalamin, Siraj-e-Munir,Uswah-e-Hasna, Sahib-e-Khulq-i-Azim. After Allah I love him more than I do anybody else or anything else. I recite Darood for him as many times as I can.
How much Ahmadis love Prophet Muhammad? How they send darood on him and how their Kalma is same as Kalma of Muslims? When they say we also follow Shariah like Muslims, what they mean by it and how they interpret Quran to justify Mirza's teachings?

How Pakistan lost Gurdaspur and ultimately Kashmir - thanks to these Ahmadis trying to obtain Qadian as a Vatican like state from their British patrons?
They made a separate representation to the Boundary Commission through their lawyer Sheikh Bashir Ahmad. The Memorandum is included in the Government's records as well as in Tarikh Ahmadiyyat, vol 10. There was no need for them to present a separate case if they agreed with the position of the Muslim League. They presented statistics which embarassed the two Muslim members, Justice Munir and Justice Din Mohammad, of the Boundary Commission. This is what Justice Munir wrote in the Pakistan Times of 24 June 1964:
"In connection with the part of the case,I cannot refrain from mentioning an extremely unfortunate circumstance.I have never understood why the Ahmadis submitted a separate representation. The need for such a representation could arise only if the Ahmadis did not agree with the Muslim League case, itself a regrettable possibility. Perhaps they intended to reinforce the Muslim League case but in doing so they gave facts and figures for different parts of Shakargarh, this giving prominence to the fact that in the area between River Bein and River Basanter the non-Muslims constituted a majority................... the stand taken by the Ahmadis did create a lot of embarassment for us in case of Gurdaspur." (Pakistan Times 24th June 1964)
All prophets of ALLAH were sent by HIM for a purpose and mission. If Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani was also a prophet as he claimed, what was his divine Mission? Read in his own statement and judge how much he fulfilled it?
http://www.islamicweb.com/beliefs/cults/qadiani_writings.htm
Did Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani also received Revelation (wahi) like Prophet Muhammad or other prophets? No hatred, know your religion and don't stay a Qadiani because you were born to a Qadiani. Rediscover your "Islam". Ignorance will not be a bliss at the day of judgement.

@andleeb:
Wow Andaleeb, you people are really treating very well minorities than india. take a look on your comments. 1. India killed Muslims in Ahmadabad / you killed Ahmadies in Lahore 2. India harm muslims / you people are targeting Ahmadies, Cristians time to time
So called you muslims can not tolorate while the Prophet you follow teached to "not to harm anyone" if you please read the last khutba of Hajj. Even during battle he never ever allowed his followers to harm any child, lady or animals, BUT in Sarae Alamgir your so called muslims burnt out even the animals of ahmadies. the killed ladies and childern.
Quran Shareef says, Lima taqooloona ma la taf aloon . Why you say that which you dont do.
so please never say minorities are safer in Pakistan than India. this is not fact First see your muslim histories from 1973 to 2011. Just few days ago an Ahmady was killed in Shekhupura due to becoming Ahmady. becauz some Mullah gave FATWA for Murder of that Ahmadi . Sham on them
Oh Allah! Guide the misguided people of Pakistan towards the beautiful teaching of our beloved master & mentor, Prophet Mohammad (pbuh), the Chief of The Prophets, The bearer of Peace, for the World and for all the people living on this earth.
@yusuf:
Dear Yusaf. Whats the problem man ? I would like to bring into your kind information that When Islam came How many followers were there in Arab ? weren't they in minority ? what about the majority who didnt accept islam ? were they on right path ? Dear this is not the debait of Minority or Majority , this is the debate of Fundamentle rights in So Called Islamic State. Try to read the History of Islam and Ahadees, what the fundamentle rights islam offered to humanity ? no matter of minority or majority
I think there is only one solution for this probelm. Ahmadis, Hindus and Christians should be given there own homelands carved out of Pakistan. Similarly Shias, Deobandis, Barelvis, Alhadees etc etc should have their own homelands. This way all can lead a pure life without intermingling with other impure people.
Another solution is that we learn to live together and tolerate each other for common good. But I think this solution is highly unlikely in case of Pakistan.
The Ahmadis love Holy Prophet(saw) more than any one. It is evident from their constant recitation of Durud and the writings of their founder.
Anyways if some of the people said that Ahmadis should not call themselves Muslims and they would be given their status. Religion is a personal matter- if they profess the Kalima and believe in all the articles of faith then they are Muslims using the definition that was in use at the time of the Holy Prophet(saw).
Anyways if some of the readers don't believe they are Muslim and then justify this for Ahmadis persecution should realise that the Holy Qur'an does not allow that. Remember that regarding justice and truth the Holy Quran (ch5:v2,3) says " And let not the enmity of a people incite you to transgress."
These people are defaming the religion of Islam by these notorious acts. Shameful.
It is worse than Nazism. The Germans at least had science going for them. Does Pakistan have that scientific culture? And what would these young children become when they grow up? Terrorists to defend their faith? The world has moved from religion to spirituality where everybodys religion is his personal affair and not the state's. Its time Pakistan also move on.
Even though i dont consider them muslims, my judgement towards them would be equal to any other muslim. they should be treated with sme respect and their rights should be protected. Atleast they should have a dhimmi status which gives them protection. All of humanity has fundamental rights which need to be protected
@Hamid Muslims still stand for rights of poor, neglected and minorities. But what about those who blame us, hurt our Prophet Muhammad by bringing forward a false Messiah, call us non-muslims? Give respect and have respect!
pathetic and shameful decision. What kind of Islam they are preaching?
@Ahmadi Your Mirza Ghulam Ahmad laid foundation of a new religion then why you people not following him fully and still calling yourself muslim? Why you people are confused between Islam and Ahmadiyyat?
This is a shame that in the 21st Century, we are still hanging over these issues by denying fundamental human rights to certain classes in Pakistan. I am superamazed at a comment that Ahmadis should construct their own schools for their children. This simply demonstrates the degeneration of mind and common thought in Pakistan. Where did the ages go when Muslims stood for the rights of poor, neglected, minorities, women and less privileged of the society?
I am not much hopeful that this society (far from being good, let alone Islamic) will survive much longer.
@ Sajida
From where u get the authority to decide fate of others ?
@Mohsin: Sorry Mohsin. Ahmadis are not disrespecting Holy prophet PBUH. You are doing it by accepting that a prophet of Bani Israel(Jesus) will come to rescue Muslims, the Holy prophets ummat.Do you know why jews and christians have been disrespecting our Prophet Muhamad PBUH. Please study history along with religion and you will find answers and solace.
Pakisthan is already in the abyss....how much notches do they want to go down..pbuh....god save the common man there
@Mohsin:
are u not ashamed;do some justice to your name,at least
if we go through history we will find out that followers of all prophets were similarly treated and they had to bear such agonies. it was foretold that followers of messiah will be treated like followers of jesus and that's one aspect of the prophecy of second coming of messiah.
@saad qureshi: Thanks Saad. We should admit that lot of our Pakistani muslims are very emotional for love of their Prophet and they can't control the anger when they are hurt by Qadiani disrespect of our beloved Prophet Muhammad by declaring he is not the last Prophet and more prophets can come after him. Ahmadis don't consider any one Muslim who does not believe Mirza Qadiani as they believe in him and so do we for their wrong beliefs. We all believe that Qadianis despite their belief have full rights as Pakistanis and they should have full protection and full opportunities like all other Pakistanis. My suggestion to them was that to avoid wrath of emotional Muslims, they should abstain calling themselves as Ahmadi Muslims. They can call themselves only Ahmadis - like Muslims don't call themselves Mohammadi Muslims. This way they will respect the law of this country also and all these hatred demonstrations will also vanish.
@Mohsin: Ur ignorant of modern society and its value.i think u need to educate Ur self of tolerance before u educate others.
@Raja: who r u to judge that who is Muslim and who iz not.i believe that any one call himself anything and should not be subjected to obtain a license from guys like u and mullahs.
@ Mohsin
Bravo my brother ! you have shown the light to others. I feel no shame in calling the Ahmedis or Qadianis as non-muslim ! they are a minority
However, I still ascertain, that being Pakistani, if the above incident has been based on hatred, then all muslims (who believe in seal of Prophethood SWT) condemn it.
@yusuf: Well You must be aware of famous Hadith that out of all muslims sects 72 will be liars and only one community will be on true path. By considering only and only ahmadi muslims among all muslims sects out of circle of Islam you guys are providing assurance that ahmadiyya is that one community. Now if you think otherwise that all muslims are right and one community ahmadis are wrong then mind it that you are going against the decision of Holy Prophet PBUH.
@Raja: Non-Muslim is simply a one who is not a Muslim. An Ahmadi claims himself to be a Muslim whereas a Muslim believe in the final prophethood of Prophet Muhammad but an Ahmadi (qadiani) does not believe so. There are Lahori Ahmadi sect who believes Mirza was not the prophet but Qadiani Ahmadis (from Rabwah) believe he was prophet. And Lahori sect of Ahmadis falsify the claim of mainstream Qadianis who are running Ahmadiyat from London where there Caliph lives. Refer to this http://www.muslim.org/noclaim/hqw-rep.htm
@Peace: I have no hatred for Ahmadis. They can believe whatever they prefer to believe or taught. They are Ahmadis not by choice but mainly because they were born in an Ahmadi's houses. And they believe whatever was taught to them. They believe Mirza was Mahdi and second coming of Hazrat Issa. They refer to sayings of prophet Muhammad but none of sayings of Prophet says both will be the same person. I am sure of one thing both Ahmadis and Muslims are not of same religion. Ahmadis also believe that and don't admit it openly. Qadianism is entirely a different religion than Islam. And the belief of their followers have different belief as Ahmadis don't believe in the Final prophethood of Prophet Muhammad which is the main belief of Muslims. All the dispute will finish if Ahmadis or Qadianis stop calling themselves Muslims or their religion as Islam. Muslims believe Prophet Muhammad as the last Prophet and Islam was completed by Prophet Muhammad. Mirzais don't believe prophet Muhammad as the last prophet. They want to fit Mirza in Islam which no Muslim will ever allow. They have misled many uneducated African muslims or Indonesian muslims but they can't fool the majority of Muslims. Their religion will end with the emergence of Imam Mahdi.
“The Punjab government’s initiative allowing people to register for schools online makes it mandatory for one to disclose their religion – whether they are Muslim or Non-Muslim.” This is outrageous. Why the disclosure of religion is mandatory? Who is the Education minister of Punjab? This persecution of Minorities has been ordered at the very highest level. And the reasons are obvious. The Sharifs are indebted (almost enslaved) to the Saudis, and can’t do anything but to toe to their line. This is just a minor example of increasing fanatic activities in Punjab, earlier several Christians were brunt down in Gojra area of Punjab. Why such incidents take place Punjab? It is just because the hobnobbing between PML-N government and right wing banned outfits. Untill these banned outfits are clamped down their barbarianism will continue. The responsible for all such acts lies on the shoulders of Punjab Government.
@Tahir: @Humanity: Ameen!
dear assalamo alaikum
Islam has become an instrument of discrimination in our country.Pakistan which has liberal view of its founder has now become a state with state of Chaos where Arson and discrimination is permitted and guarded by Law and Law enforcement agencies. A state owned inquisition is under practice. The Idea of our beloved Leader and Founder of Pakistan has come to an end. and is just seen in some old books.
The only country under the sky which has discriminatory laws. Cant we write against such a laws.
A man is born free. He is free to express his will. his creed , his religion, and free to adopt any. but what is our beloved country.
@ SAQIB Thats the problem, Thank God you yourself written it here. You people always claim yourself (just a little minority) on right path and all other muslims (almost 2 billion) to be ignorant, mislead. Thats the problem man, thats the problem!!!
@Raja:
Dear Raja, I would like to explore the difference for you as explored in Islam,
Muslim! Who belive in Allah, his Prophet (SAW), Holly Quran,
Non Muslim ! Who dont believe on them.
Holly Quran Says. if some say Salam, never ask him that you are not Momin.
Islam never ever allow any body to decide about other 's religion. only the contractors of Islam Mullah has self produced authority to give FATWA about anyone just for some rupees.
as you said Ahmadies can open thier own schools, let me clear you that Ahmadies already have the schools which were nationalized by Z>A Bhutto.
I am not shocked to read this news about Expulsion of Ahmadies from School in Hafizabad Area as its going on since a long time, if you go 1400 years back, You can see that all kind of discriminations were made with the Holly Prophet and his Followers. Dear Ahmadies ! You should thank GOD for all this is happening with you, you are on the right path , The path of Holly Prophet (SAW)as he toled his Sahaba (AS) that there is an other nation that you didnt meet them yet, they will come after you. One Sahabi asked ,Ya Rasoolulla ! if we find them , how can we recognise them ? The Holly Prophet said, The same will happen with them as happening with us.
So O Dear Ahmadies. Be happy that you are the ones that same things are happening with you as happened with Our Holly Prophet (SAW) & His followers.
God Bless you all ever and keep you all in his care (Ameen)
@ Raja You mean other non-muslims label themselves as non-muslims while Ahmadis, although declared constitutionally as non-muslims, still call themselves 'muslims'.
=> I think there is big difference between a "Non-Muslim" and "Ahmadis" some one can explore the difference... i am not going in deep. => If any religion in pakistan is allowed to open his Mosque/Church/Mandar etc. Then why not they cant open their own school. as already in pakistan there are separate schools and colleges for Christians. =>Ahmadis are known to having big assests and money. so i think they they cn go for this option rather than making this minorties issue.
@Mohsin Dear Mohsin, the website Irshad.org you referred to in your email is a similar thing to what many anti-Islam people do. As you know on their anti-Islam websites they quote from Quran, out of context, to prove that Islam teaches violence and which we know is absolutely wrong and misleading. But unfortunately this website you have visited or many other anti-ahmadiyya websites are similar in nature and are nothing but full of lies and twisted out of context references to create hatred against Ahmadi Muslims. These lies have all been responded to and exposed and all the responses are available online. Rest assured that Ahmadis have never avoided any discussion about their beliefs, they are willing to come to any forum where they can have a positive discussion in a neutral atmosphere. But unfortunately your clerics will keep hurling totally false allegations on media and then start giving threats to the media if they invite any Ahmadi scholar to reply to those false accusations.
I do not blame you for your hatred, this is the case with many of our non-ahmadi Muslim brothers and sisters who have like you only read the twisted out of context writings from the anti-ahmadiyya websites or have only heard about Ahmadiyya beliefs from their current day religious clerics.
The terrorism, religious hatred, failure to cope dengue and now targeting children. Thanks Mr. Shahbaz Sharif. Even the Jews of Israel let the children of Muslims to study in their institutions.
its really very sad
@encrypted: it would help you personlly if you were to understand what democracy is. Forget about muslims/ non-muslims, christians/ ahmadis/ shia/ sunni, think of humanity as large. Is this how the rest of the world is moving with petty mindedness ....not at all. It's sad that the so called muslims of Pakistan have brought the country to where it is now being downtrodden by the rest of the world and ofcourse with the help of none other than Pakistani muslims like yourself. Forget about ahmadies their God is with them. But what about you....your Allah has forsaken you and Pakiatan can never beocme better if people like you with weak moral values, views and ofcourse faith remain to do do nothing but play a dirty role in persecuting people just because they have the courage to live for their belief.
@Antanu: This is not a class room, this is the picture of a lecture theatre cum examination hall of some post secondary educational institute, preferably from Europe as one can see the heating vents and humidity controls. The city which complaints about 18 hours power cuts cannot afford to have brightly lit empty class rooms. The high schools all over the world have a big table, teacher's chair and desks for students. The walls have posters and charts. This picture is missing all the attributes of a high school. It is not a moral extremism on my part to critique ET stories with sincere feed back. Not all news stories need to accompanied by a supporting picture.
@Leila
All Muslims have faith in Imam Mehdi (sunnis and shias alike). what separates the Ahmedi from us is that do not believe that Prophet Muhammad SWT was last Prophet of Allah and Jesus(AS) died two thousand years ago (which is wrong). this makes them disbeliever.
However, Islam condemns harassment of minorities based on hatred. we all do not know the true picture of the above incident; but if it was based on hatred, then it should be condemned at every level.
@ Leila
You should better their official website to learn who they are. They that Jesus(AS) died two thousand years ago, which is not true. You can ask any Christian. Then they claim their leader, Mirza Ghulam Ahmed, to be the foretold Mehdi; which is also not true and contradicts both Shia's and Sunni's School of thought
Many Ahmedis, personally few I know, do not accept Prophet Muhammad SWT as last Prophet. Even this is what they preach at Rabwah; their holy place.
Now, it is a prerequisite for a Muslim to believe in oneness of God and seal of Prophet hood SWT. if they do not, they are disbeliever. for the very same reason, they were declared non muslims and a minority in the constitution of Pakistan.
Islam gives full freedom to minorities and discourages harassment to them. However, the rampage against the minorities (e.g Christians and others) have registered a steep rise in Pakistan. the situation is alarming and must be curbed.
As far as the expulsion is concerned, if its based on hatred, then its condemned by Islam itself. Such incidents would lead to interfaith clashes, which none of us would wish.
And someone bashed at showing religion on roll no slips; I personally think its inappropriate, but then why do social networks mention religion on profiles ?
Just to let you all know,
Not all ahmedis believe in another prophet. Some of them believe that another SAINT (or wali of Allah) will come to guide the muslims, a figure like imam mehdi.
if i open a school i will see nothing like this happens, if i hire someone i will see nothing like this happens.
this is a pain , how pakistan is practcising islam when its our last Prophet PBUH always said to protect and respoct minorities..
@Shaesta...You have doubts?
@encrypted: In democracy majority has an obligation to respect minorities and they cannot deprive minority from their basic rights. In democracy majority just can’t decide to kill someone for the only reason that they want to see them dead. There are limitations, rules, laws to be followed. Any law seizing basic human rights of any person or minority is against religion, ethics and UN charter.
What you think about democracy isn’t democracy but Jungle law, rule of might or anarchy.
thank you all, for the kind and just remarks in our (Ahmadi muslims) favor, and im really thankful to you all for your extraordinary support, i would make a request that if someone knows the procedure of raising this issue on the international matter please do contact me, trust me ill be more than happy to hear response striving for our future and our rights nothing will mean more to us than your support. People who're still against us, I would be extremely humble to you in explaining the cause of ahmadi muslims who've fought for Pakistan,lived for Pakistan that one day this country would acknowledge as its own. Our motto "Love for all and Hatred for none" which is not just for the sake of having a motto but as we truely believe in spreading love all over the world and persuading our rivals by deliberate peace and reasons other than a gun or a dagger. I would like to express my utmost gratitude and happiness to the indian comunity for atleast taking the initiative of suggesting to helping and speak for ou cause, in such a crisis it really means a lot to us, and everybody else thank you so much..!!! and please do contact me if someone's interested in promoting this incident and if someone can deliver me the platform to speak on international stage. Thank you all..!!!! May God place you all in peace and prosperity
No wonder Pakistan has earthquakes, floods and Denque fever, even God is tired of the counrty that has no tolerenace and does not eve believe in Islam religion of peace and tolerance
I invite all Muslims and Qadianis to refer to this site to know the reality of Qadiani beliefs.
http://irshad.org/qadianism.php
This will help our Qadianis to know the truth and disassociate from the falsehood they have been taught.
@antanu You are right, please keep your focus on good coming out of pakistan.
No action from the govt yet ??
@encrypted:
There is a big difference between democracy, and blatant ignorance, as demonstrated by not only that entire village, but your comment as well.
I suppose it makes you happy that your country has a majority of fanatics, instead of descent human beings filled with tolerance, empathy and respect for others. You people are your own downfall, and you just keep sinking lower. Good luck to you.
Who needs US to bomb us ? With attitudes like this, we are already drifting back to stone age. Kudos Mullahs...enjoy your stay in caves
@Raj: How dou now its not a picture from pakistani classroom. While topic ofthe article is religious extremism u are deviting to other matter.W in India is also in a state of continuous denial about anything looking good in pak.This is worst kind of moral extremism...more dangerous than religious extremism.
Religious scholars from both, Ahmadis & Muslims, must sit together and try to bridge some gaps. This is the only solution!
simply means that pakistan is a wahabi state wiyh no regards to minorities.
We all must condemn of the expulsion 13 students and one lady teacher from a school at Hafiz Abad in Punjab Province Pakistan. This action was taken on religious discrimination which is prohibited by the Constitution of Pakistan. We strongly demand from Chief Minister of Punjab to take immediate action to save lives of Ahemdi Community in the area. Extremist Muslims are trying to kill to those unfortunate people. Please Help those people for the sake of God and to promote true Islamic values.
The mullahs who use mosque loudspeakers, jirgas and other such tools to fan sectarianism and hatred are an ignorant lot. Memorising the Holy Quran is a blessed thing, but that does not give right to anyone to begin to dispense 'justice' according to their interpretaion of Quranic texts. Such personaized interpretaions by half literate mullahs which are based on their biases amounts to trifling with the Allah's words. There are no readily identifiable Ulema in Pakistan. The few there were have been either assassinated, or have had to leave the country under threat to their lives by the mullahs. The 'Mullahdom of Pakistan' which the mullahs seem bent upon inflicting on the people of Pakistan, and on the world and which, Allah forbid, if they are successful will be riven with inter-mullah, and sectarian violence, and open warfare between different schools of religious thought, with mosques becoming centers of violent operations for different sects and schools of thought, such as the country has not seen. The Mullahs will end up decimating themselves, and with them the country.
@Sana Iqbal:
"The constitution of this country as well Islam itself gives a right to every human being to preach and practice his religion freely. "
You may want to read the constitution again closely. It does not give the right to non-Muslims to preach their religion freely.
@sana:
"the entire village protested against the ahmedi students? god, we have no future. all the media walas should go to this town and talk to these people to understand what makes them so full of hatred and try to reason with them. we can’t give up."
Why blame the villagers? Why not blame the Pakistani nation as a whole for having passed a discriminatory constitution and laws against minorities, and Ahmedis in particular? The villagers are just practicing what the state has indoctrinated them to do.
@Bushra Ahmed:
"It is time we left judgements as to who is muslim and who is non-Muslim to our Creator ..."
Why should a god that created all beings and one who loves all his creations be worried about who is a Muslim or a non-Muslim? Makes no logical sense.
@Feroz:
"No country has done such a wonderful job as to reduce its population of minorities from 15% to less than 3% in a mere 60 years. "
That is a very important observation.
The population % figure of the minorities in a country is a very sure indicator of their freedom and equality. A steep decline in the numbers is indicative of extensive direct and indirect discrimination. By the way, Pakistan had more than 25% minorities after the partition.
You know, I just started noticing something. Whenever someone claims being of Muslim beliefs as their reason for doing something it's always something that causes harm to another person. Then, when something positive happens, they never seem to link it to being Muslim, but rather put extreme amounts of effort into telling and reminding people that they are the ones who should get the credit.
I'm not trying to bash the religion. It's just an observation anyone can see for themselves with little trouble. I'm not accusing the religion of anything or saying one interpretation is more correct over another. The scope of the observation is limited to a narrow individual basis. Not a sweeping statement.
The constitution does protect everyone regardless of any religion/faith, but that constitution is made by those who we today consider them THE ENEMIES and showed it down to the throats of the claimants of Heaven so that they act humanly. Until now, our so call leaders and thinkers are playing around the inherited constitution; they are expert in making laws to expel other faiths/religions from the circle of Humanity. So far, they couldn't make a law/constitution that brings reform in society/ that changes the damn attitudes.
This is what about the constitution.
Dear Victim, hating other faiths and religion is being instilled in the blood of such people. May God kick them on the right path.
@Humanity:
"Ahmadis should migrate en mass from Pakistan..."
Where would they go? Besides, Pakistan is their land too.
Wake up Pakistanis WAKE UP! Mullahs are eating you up!
@Raj: future of Pakistan would be bright no doubt if they get rid of moulvis.
Pakistan is on the road to ignorance. Nothing can stop it from the eventual doom.
I don't understand what the hue and cry is all about. Pakistan is an Islamic country, and the first of its kind. It was made for Muslims. Others don't belong here. Inspite of this, the minorities must be loving it here, otherwise they would have left and gone to India by now. It is proof that we treat our minorities better than India does, and thats why they are not leaving.
@Maira: so much for the freedom and compassion, that the "happy", "safe" and "free" Muslims are butchering each other. I mean, people like you are at the height of hypocrisy. You ignored every essence of this article and came out to brag about Pakistan and Islam. If not the mess today then when and what else would Pakistanis need to start seeing the quagmire that they have set up around themselves and in the rest of the world, all in the name of Islam.
@Umar: You have no idea, how much I love Pakistan. I learned to read and write Urdu without any tutor, but by just watching Pakistan Television. I have yet to meet a Pakistani who has learned Hindi or Gurumukhi by watching Indian Doordarshan.
Prosperous Pakistan is better for my home town Amritsar. The way you do not like the refugees from Afghanistan, the same way Amritsar will not like the flow of Pakistani refugees in case something terrible happen in Pakistan. I will bet you $100 US, if ET proves that this picture belongs to the same school which expelled students. Thanks Umar for reading and responding to my comments. God bless India and Pakistan.
94 comments .... Amazing!
This is such a sad incident. Poor Pakistan is totally hijacked by these narrow minded, extremist, hypocrites children of Gen Zia (Abu jahal) and his companions. Future of this country is bleak. This intolerance will eventually come to a point where Pakistan won't be able to keep itself intact. Our so called leaders accuse west of attempting to break Pakistan where they themselves are against its integrity and are trying their best to set things on fire. The air in Pakistan is so vicious that it hurts breathing. They have lost respect in the whole world and now they are not even letting their own people live with peace. Ahmadis are so peaceful that despite so much discrimination no one ever saw ahmadis on road even over the incident where their 86 people were brutally killed on a single day. Pakistani nation should open its eyes, to where are they heading?? Total destruction!!! May God show them the right path.Ameen!!!
Such hate based acts are only bringing bad name to Pakistan but also to Islam. These attrocities are not new for Godly communities and no doubt these will not scare ahmadis. However, by doing so , the opponents of ahmadis are earning God's displeasure. May Allah save Pakistan from such extremists and thus save Pakistan otherwise this extremism will lead Pakistan no where. Ahmadis have motto of " love for all hatred for none"
Will the school do the same with childern of people who support taliban and their attrocities? Clearly they are not muslims but call themselves muslims. Another sad day, it is.
who introduced this parliament write to that person and get this shameful situation resolved urgently.
Bring dictatorship, - make going to school mandatory. Make it like north korea, and then start spreading democracy once everything stabilizes.
Hate politics is in the foundation of Pakistan. Hate out of a 'percieved' notion that Muslims wouldnt stand on an equal footing with the 'Kafirs' & a by product of a spectatularly stupid 2 Nation Theory that has failed and was bound to fail ab initio - became slogans to demand the Land of the Pure. Thank MA Jinnah, for taking such fanatics to your Pakistan
@encrypted: this is called " might is right" " law of jungle"
Well well well,,,,, the school name (Muslim Public School) already defined the mentality of their owners running the show. Shouldn't there be a check on the school name before they get themselves registered! I mean what are you trying to portray to the minorities about this pure religion which is indeed unbiased for every practicing faith and give the message of 'dawat'....!!
@encrypted: "Ahmadis I guess don’t believe in democracy where the one who has the majority wins. The entire village didn’t want their kids to mingle with Ahmadis and they decided to expel them. What is the issue over here."
There is a difference between democracy and mobocracy which you are advocating.
@Feroz: "No country has done such a wonderful job as to reduce its population of minorities from 15% to less than 3% in a mere 60 years"
Your point is directionally correct - except that Pakistan had 20% minorities at the time of Partition - where Hindus, Christians, Sikhs and Parsis were called minorities. That number has now shrunk to 3%. But in order to maintain the number constant at 20%, people have introduced new categories of minorities i.e. Ahmadiyas and Shias. So including these people, the number is back to 20%. Once this expanded minority is driven to 3%, some mor egroups will be classified as minorities and so on... Way to go Pakistan!
@haider Qureshi
Doesnt matter who you are? In this country everybody is a kaafir for somebody. Some may be high intensity kafirs and some might be less kafirs so the degree of torture that each of us faces might vary, but nevertheles we all are kafirs for someone or the other.
The MULLAHS(ISLAMIC CLERGY) of today will be the worst living beings on earth in the latter days(hadith);just as the Jewish clergy who condemned Jesus(AS) to be crucified in their own time,were the worst living beings to walk on earth at that time;They thought that Jesus was an imposter,but we know now that they were wrong, and Jesus was a true Messenger of Allah;The most deplorable state of the mullahs nowadays should be an eye opener for each and every Muslim today,for the behave just like the Jewish clergy of Jesus(AS)'s time.
this pakistan will never have ayn future
I respect the emotions expressed in many of the comments here 100%. But a comment to the Tribune: In your (otherwise noble) effort to cover even 'controversial' issues, you've become part of the story. For example where in the your write up above is the "other side's" clarification of this incident, and that of the authorities? Also, almost all the sources mentioned in the story are from one party, and it is not even said who made the 'hate speech' in the first place (a ghost?).
This is a violation of a basic journalistic ethic. In your haste to go to press with this, you may have turned this into something it never was.
@Mohsin: "They have their own last prophet and their religion is not Islam and even they consider Muslims believing Prophet Muhammad the last prophet as kafirs." The above statement is based on gross misconceptions and deliberate misstatements of some professional theologians.
Ahmadis believe that:
Jesus (as) died two thousand years ago, IbneArabi, Javed Ghamadi etc also agree with this. Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) is the promised Messiah and Mehdi, foretold by the holy Prophet (saw). Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) is an absolute slave of the holy Prophet (saw). The shariat of the holy Prophet (saw) is final and cannot be changed or added to. All kalima reciters are Muslims.
Imagine what happens if all "so-called" muslim students are expelled from educationals in West? Will they have any answer or would be capable enough to plead their case in the light of the human rights.
Prophet Muhammad (SAW) urged upon the believers to travel China to seek education it is regrettable that students in their own countries being denied in Pakistani just because of their belief and sects.
We are none to declare "infidel" anybody. This is what the Holy Quran says.
May God give us courage to understand and respect the Humanity, Amen.
Mussarat
@Rationalist: Next the Ahmadis will be forced to wear arm bands telling everyone that they are Ahmadis and can be killed without any danger of being arrested or prosecuted. If you do not believe me read the history of Hitler's Germany where all Jews were required to wear similar badges. Did I hear Pakistan was progressing? Clearly it is progressing backwards!
cant we all live in peace and respect everyone for what they are ?
Pakistan was never so intolerant 20 ~ 25 years ago; even the literacy rate was quite low back then ! shia's being killed in balochistan; christian being tortured; minorities being harassed ....I would not put the blame on mullahs only, we educated lot have not even done something either to counter this.... instead of taking out to streets, all we do is cry before foreign media.
There are a bunch of idiots who think have been given a divine responsibility to cleanse the society people who differ their faith and belief.
then there other bunch of idiots, who think what ever they do (good or bad) falls other Islamic jurisdiction and teachings.
the reality is none of us has ever studied Islam in detail (both so called jahil mullahs and jahil educated lot)...Islam is Islam; there's nthng like pre-historic Islam, enlightened Islam, modern Islam, shia's Islam, sunni's Islam, Deo bandi's, Wahabi's Islam or Fundamentalist's Islam. there could be ideologies as long as it doesnt conflict with the basics of Islam, but enforcing one's belief and calling any kalma go an infidel is bad and unacceptable..all the minorities enjoyed freedom during Prophet SWT's time. there's no compulsion in Islam. its God to judge and decide some one's faith. Its is so sad that we feel so insecure that we start killing the humans to satisfy our ego.
@Shaesta: [b] off course not?but this beastly minority,led by mullahs, are advertising death and destruction,and saying(Accusing) it coming from quran shareef and prophet of islam.(is it not blasphemy) when the same thing is said by non-muslims,who is to blame?
my name is haider qureshi, and im an Ahmadi muslim who's faced similar kind of treatment and humility in pakistani schools, something which was more humiliating and uenthical than this incident, which cannot be expressed over here. According to the UN charter every individual who resides in a country which is a member of UN, has to act under the accordance of the UN declaration charter stating that every person has freedom and security to practice his religion without any restrictions, and any country who does not allows its citizens to do so, is violating the human rights act and should be brought under the spotlight. Ahmadi muslims are being persecuted in south east asia, region specially in Pakistan ever since the partition, and to be specific then since the infamous Islamic law of Gen. Zia -ul-haq stating Ahmadi muslims as non-muslims (kafirs, a very strong word for a muslim to be desrcibed with) and denying us from the rights of declaring ourselves as muslims and praying, this issue should be discussed on the international forum and should be argued over our rights.
Please read the second amendment to the constitution of Pakistan. Ahmedians are considered non Muslims as such their plight is as good as any minorities in PAK.
@Mohsin: Suppose I belong to a different sect from you, and based on my religious beliefs decide you are not a Muslim. Then I enact laws to punish you........not satisfied with that, I get you expelled from school..... So which sect is going to be the next?
A lesson in history for you: Sir Zafrulla Khan was at one time the President of the All-India Muslim League (1931-1932). Obviously he was not elected by his own sect, and his religious affiliation was no secret. So what do you think about the Muslim leaders who elected him??? Want to make some pronouncements about them as well?
Discrimination against any group based on religious affiliation is wrong, something which civilized people have understood after much bloodshed and violence, so its not something we should revisit.
@Rajendra Kalkhande: Your wish has brought tears to my eyes, may God bless you for your concern for the victims of this senseless cruelty.
It is a very sad incident indeed.Pakistan is a country which is already facing so many problems,and just when its the time for all the Pakistanis,regardless of their cast,colour,creed or religion,to unite,the people of Pakistan are creating another problem. This shall create disunity among Pakistanis.I think,education is the fundamental right of all Pakistanis,no matter what their religion is! I hope the concerned authorities take responsible action against this shameful and cheap act of a so-called "Musllim Pakistani". I'm not an Ahmadi,per I think education should be for all. If this becomes the global way of thinking,then,I'm afraid,billions of Muslims in the whole wide world won't receive any education,or even their basic rights as a citizen of their country. May God bless Pakistan and all the Muslims.Ameen.
Shame on Pakistani Government, they have brought Pakistan to this extent, either promoting their own strategies or following the so called mullahs and allowing them to spread hatred against innocent Ahmadi mulims living in Pakistan. If the misery of the Ahmadi being caused not by the laws of nature, but by our institutions, then great is the sin. It`s just the matter of thinkng what harm have Ahmadi Muslims caused to Pakistan sofar to suffer all this....?? Please my fellow Pakistanis wakeup and try to find the truth yourself with open heart and mind.
Way to go my fellow countrymen....Disgusting!!!!! u don't want Ahmadies to be buried on ur land, does this land belongs to you. No every thing which is created belongs to God Almighty. u think u can stop us by these cheap acts then u must be mistaken. We shall and we will rise and one day justice will be served InshAllah
@azmat:
What is the other side? Enlighten us.
Pakistan has just lost a few more future Nobel Prize winners. We are now in the State of Abu Lahab!
Hello IMRAN KHAN ( or his supporters ) You are dreaming to lead the country after next election. JUST ONE QUESTION How would you like to lead a country like this
This is the Islam which was revealed on the imperial family of Saudi Arabia in 70's and imported in Pakistan by Gen Zia. Culprits mus be hanged!
Ahmadis should stop calling themselves Muslims. If they do so, as per law of the country, no one will hate them or harm them. They have their own last prophet and their religion is not Islam and even they consider Muslims believing Prophet Muhammad the last prophet as kafirs. They hurt the passions of Muslims when they call themselves Muslims and not believe the Prophet Muhammad as the last prophet but believe on their prophet Mirza Ghulam Qadiani as prophet. Not all muslims are tolerant to ones who jeopardize the fabric of Islam by claiming a true Muslim should believe on their Qadiani prophet. That is why according to the law of the country these Qadianis should be clearly identified and they should be stopped from calling themselves Muslims. If they stop disguising themselves as Muslims, then there will be no need of signing declaration forms. It is the right time for Qadianis to stop calling themselves Muslims. They are not breaking the law of country by doing so but infuriating the passions of Muslims. For their own safety and security, they should accept their religion is not the one which the majority of Muslims believe and follow.
A nation built on the notion that its people are unable to co-exist with their ancestral peoples, a nation now purifying itself or religious minorities.
No new story here, just living up to the name "Land of the Pure"
strong text
Before, I given the comments, regarding this story, I am a Muslim, but it is not fair, to expelled the students from school, while the education is basic right without cast, religion, faith and race.The constitution of Pakistan, provides, equal rights to all human being.
There are always 2 sides to a story... this is one side...! take care!
If the government really wants to rectify it, and teach the truant village a lesson in humanity,all they have to do is withhold any government contribution to the school,including teachers' pay.Let the village pay for it themselves.
Is this the teaching of holy prophet?l
Wish I were Prime Minister of India. I would have invited all these expelled kids to New Delhi and got them admitted in Delhi Public School at Government of India's expense. I feel so sad for them. Even Lord can not save a society where intolerance has gone to such extent. What else can I say now..Oh Lord grant wisdom to your creatures...
@imran: And expel the Chinese from China
@ M M Malik
It is unbelievable that Ahmadi schools nationalized in 1972 have not been de-nationalized. Christian institutions like Kinnaird and Forman Christian Colleges have been returned to the original owners. Is the Punjab government under pressure from the theocratic lobby?
I think the school administration was thinking about the safety of the ahmadi pupils and their family.The school administration of the Chenab Public School and Muslim Public School, Dharanwali made the right choice by asking the ahmadis to not attend the school. True muslima. believe prophet muhammad (PBUH) to be the last prophet
Yesterday, the Hazara Shia community was at the receiving end of the self-proclaimed protectors of the faith. Today, it was Ahmadi community. It is only a matter of time before various schools of thoughts in Sunni community turn on each other. What a morally bankrupt nation! And they still think they are the flag bearers of their faith and have a divine right to speak on behalf of Muslims living in other countries.
@Humanity: Ahmadis should migrate en mass from Pakistan to follow in the foot steps of the Muslims who were forced to migrate 1,400 years ago when they were faced with similar persecution and oppression that the Ahmadis are being subjected to.
For outside world Ahmedis are still Muslims and fundamentalist and proselytising at that. Why should anyone take them?
After all Religion of Peace (or is it piece?) is endorsed by the Land of Pure!
Week 1: Police Officer Martyred, Week 2: Teacher Martyred, Week 3:Student's education Martyred, Week 4: Pakistan arrives in a handbasket twitter.com/MuslimIQ
Welcome to Pakistan or Should I say Mullahstan Its only a matter of time before the civilised world especially the west will require all Pakistani nationals to have a column in their passports declaring they are not terrorists. At that point our population and government will suddenly remember human rights start screaming!
The Night of Broken Glass.......... Soon the world shall hear of Gas Chambers in Pakistan!
This is such a shame. Why is it 'Pakistani Islam' which is in danger always?? Look what has happened to Pakistan.....all in the name of religion. Are people insane or what?? Ever think about the progressive Muslim countries?? Seem like Pakistan has one way left only....... Downward!!!!
I personally condemn it, Pakistan Govt should take notice of that incident.
the entire village protested against the ahmedi students? god, we have no future. all the media walas should go to this town and talk to these people to understand what makes them so full of hatred and try to reason with them. we can't give up.
Another great reason why religion and state should be separate. Your religious beliefs don't give you the right to treat other people as inferiors.
“They went so far as to say that they would never allow for an Ahmadi to be buried in their graveyard, let alone allow an Ahmadi to study in a school with their children,” next who knows they stop selling them daily commodities terming the money "haram"...way to go pakistan
When I read the title of the article, I invariable thought it to be the action of a couple of misguided individuals. But the entire village? That does not even leave any space for wishful thinking like - "Hopefully, sanity will prevail".
Shame on these so called "lovers of the Prophet" and "protectors of religion"
They are anything BUT and are driving people away from Islam in DROVES.
Pathetic, but then that's become the norm in Pakistan.
Pakistan is getting purer by the day.
Disgusting. My heart aches for this community. The fact that religion is put on the rolls like that makes Pakistan sound like the new Hitler Germany. What's next? Non-Sunni-Wahabis will have to wear a headband so terrorists can easily identify who they want to kill and police can easily identify who they can refuse help to?
This is a shame!
"This is not my decision … the entire village unanimously pressed me to expel all Ahmadis from the school, or else they would forcibly shut the school down"
Considering his religion, when this fellow will be called to account for his deeds in the hereafter this certainly won't excuse him from the wrongs he committed by expelling innocent human beings who's only "crime" was to be an Ahmedi.
However, it would certainly help if people would publicly stand out against bigots so that it would make it easier for such people to make a stand as well. And regarding that bit about roll number slips having religion on display, I can only reiterate what another poster has already mentioned so aptly: WOW, just wow. Way to go Pakistan. You sure know how to make your citizens proud of you.
Oh Allah! Guide the misguided people of Pakistan towards the beautiful teaching Of our beloved master & mentor, Prophet Mohammad (pbuh), the Chief of The Prophets, The bearer of Peace, for, the World for all people! Oh Allah this is a nation of the silent Majority of good upright Muslims! May you avert all punishment on this Nation and punish all the guilty ones, as an example! as you did punish the wrongdoers in the past! Such as those who opposed the ones who accepted your messengers for their guidance!
May Allah make this nation turn to guidance to the Quran & not the Mullah! Oh! Forgive this Nation & enter them into guidance towards goodness, of the beautiful teaching of the last book, (Quran) entrusted to our Beloved Master Mohammad (PBUH) from whom we derive all guidance as the perfect Exampler for Mankind! Oh! My Allah safe guard the ones who have turned to you for guidance & accepted your Mahdi the Deputy of Your Prophet Mohammad to make the Religion Of Islam to prevail over all false things that have crept into other religions. "There is no Allah besides Allah and Mohammad is the Messenger of Allah'
A message of peace from an Ahmadi from the UK, a land of the Christian where the Principles of Islamic teachings are practised that are forgotten by the Muslims of Pakistan.
And yet again another atrocious act that shall go unnoticed by the authorities, although I must praise express tribune to have the guts to publish an article that aims at inciting sympathy towards the much persecuted ahmadies. Being an ahmadi myself, I have faced and heard of uncountable events where media would not publish an event like this to protect it's popularity. I must say I am glad to read comments that discourage such acts as opposed to encourage (believe me, it is a rare sight, and it is the opposite that normally occurs). In one of the comments someone mentions that ahmadies ought to migrate. All those who afford to are doing so, and the epitome of this migration was reached when our khola at shifted to London in the late 80's under Gen Zia's regime, who sought to arrest out fourth khalifa and hang him. I request you all to voice your opinion regarding such discrimination amongst your peers as well, and make them aware of the demented psyche that these so called religious leaders of this country have started inculcating. We need to put a stop to it or our beloved country will never be able to break free from the chains of doom.
is the goverment of punjab muslim , do the people of above mention village in punjab belong to islam and believer of Allah and Rehmat ul Alameen?i think islam has taught us to be tolerant to evry living thing .
The offending comment has been deleted.
Apologies and regards, The Express Tribune Web Desk
This alarming situation for the fundamental right to education of Ahmadiyy Muslims in Pakistan continues to accelerate and the international community must take resolute action to pursue the Government of Pakistan to honour its commitments to the Universal Declaration on Human Rights
Now I appeal the government of Pakistan to repeal all the laws and ordinances denying Ahmadis their civic and fundamental rights and propping up the Mullahs and extremist groups to continue the murders of Ahmadis and the destruction of their means to livelihood.
@Nida:
"i hate qadiyanis but i dont know if its the right thing to do or NOT.. might be there is some other scene involved behind all this. Qadiyanis always do tableegh of their DEEN and always try’s to move us from DEEN e Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhay Wasallam.."
If you feel someone's preaching to move you from your faith then honey you should look into yourself and hate yourself for a weak faith that can easily be moved by anyone and not the person who is preaching his or her faith. The constitution of this country as well Islam itself gives a right to every human being to preach and practice his religion freely. Why on earth do we have to show this hypocrisy. We want our children to study at all the cream convent schools operated by missionaries but we kick others out of our educational institutes because we hate them because suddenly we feel they are deviating us from our path. wow. Learn to be tolerant. Peace. P.S. Despite the fact that I am not fond of wearing religion on my sleeves, in case someone considers my comment an "Ahmedi Propaganda", I wanna clarify am not an Ahmedi.
Ironically, there is no real Islam in Pakistan. All we have here is fundamentalism based on untrue facts and politically motivated measures taken to brainwash the illiterate masses who don't have enough brains to pick up the Quran and read it themselves instead of blindly following odious 'leaders'.
We don't need enemies in our country, we're all perfectly equipped (and en-route) to kill each other off and leave our resources for the world to harvest.
def a sad news that ppl of the village forced the principal to expel the students... we had ahmedi students in our school, we used to play with them like with other students. There are ahmedi colleagues at our work place but we dont start a campaign to fire them ... but yes, its not a hidden fact that ahmedis give favors to ppl of their own sect, they preach their religion (which is not allowed by Pak law)... and their preaching is not allowed coz they are non-muslims when they claim they are muslims.their preaching is def unacceptable. Being followers of a tolerant religion there is no excuse for us expelling them from schools and shun them from society.
@Nida: So why are you so afraid that they do? Don't you preach your own? If you think your deen is the right deen, then you shouldn't be worried. Is that what your deen of peace teaches you? hatred for anyone different from you?
My dear nida ... Hate is a strong word and islam is a religion of compassion. We live in a world with people belonging to different religions, none can force or impose their teachings on others. However, if we develop an attitude of a real muslim, ppl might want to adopt our faith. Pakistan, we struggled to achieve wasnt only a homeland for muslims only. We wanted a free country where muslims can live independently and no harm others as had been the fate of muslims before partition. Live and let others livve is what islam all about.
First they came for the qadyanis,and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a qadyani.Then they came for the shias,and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a shia.Then they came for the christians,and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a christian.Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak for me. (a pakistani complaining after 10 years)
@Nida: That's just pathetic.
Fascism at it's highest levels.
Nida why do you hate qadiyanis? we are Ahmadis by the way so first call us by our real names. we are not all from qadian(india). and whats wrong with "tableegh"?? If others can do tableegh to us then arent we suppose to reply to that?????? Where is equality of rights?? Basic Human Values??? If your faith is so fragile that Ahmadis can move you away from Islam then you must argue back with arguments from the Holy Quran and Sunnah which is the right way. and lastly YOU MUST NOT HATE ANYONE ON THE BASIS OF DIFFERENCE OF OPINION, thats the most FUNDAMENTAL HUMAN VALUE.
No country has done such a wonderful job as to reduce its population of minorities from 15% to less than 3% in a mere 60 years. This has given it a unique position in the comity of nations. Incidents like garlanding of Quadri and public processions in his support, targeting of Ahmadis, and blasphemy Laws have elevated Pakistans position several notches higher. Pakistan is a liberal, peaceful and progressive country, of course !
@raj
yes ET, raj will be happy as long as you defame Pakistan, or otherwise he would stop visiting your website.
In Nazi Germany Jews were required to wear the Star of David emblem on their clothing to be readily identifiable as Jews. In Pakistan Shias, Hazaras, Ahmedis, Christians and others will be required to wear identifying emblems if the Mullah brigade has its way, and so far it has.
@Nida: Ms. Nida, why do you hate qadiyanis? Isn't hate a negative emotion that is to be avoided? Imagine facing such discrimination and hate on a daily basis. As for the tableegh part, isn't it their right to spread what they think is the right path? Or should we take away their right to think, believe, and speak. It is always a good idea to have your faith challenged by those of other faiths and those having no religion. Open debate allows us to grow intellectually. .
"“ … the entire village unanimously pressed me to expel all Ahmadis from the school, or else they would forcibly shut the school down,” he added."
. Pakistan is going down the path Nazi Germany went through before the concentration camps and mass executions. Mass killings and pogroms (gojra, anyone?) are already far too frequent. In our country, minorities are effectively living in their own ghettos, now only the arm bands for identification are missing.
welcome to Pakistan.
@Nida:
Nida sahiba.......here we are just talking about the expulsion of Ahmadi students and isnt education the right of for all irrespective of the cast, creed and religion. As you say, you hate them....but there MOTO will be always " LOVE FOR ALL HATRED FOR NONE"
And when I thought Pakistan cannot go much lower – it reveals another pit of darkness in which it jumps with disgusting fervour.
**Land o the pure being purified by killings, expulsions, forced migration using unholy alliance of unholy people. Theocracy's influence has done more damage to this country than all the enemies combined.
@Nida And your eman is so week that you cannot stand the sight of them. Don't blame them for your weaknesses.**
At this rate Pakistanis will be required by Mullah law which would be backed by large segment of Lahore Bar Council, and segments of some other bar council members, to have their religion and sect etched indelibly on their foreheads.
Why are the Muslims of Pakistan so insecure? There are more Muslims in India than in Pakistan and they are following their religion with complete freedom.
ET, please do not glorify the class rooms of Pakistani schools. The photo does not seem to belong to a school which expelled students. Either remove the photo or put the real photo of the school.Thanks, Raj
I guess we can't expect a revolution from a nation as screwed up as this.
What kind of islam are they exactly following? After ghazwa-e-badar, the non-muslim captives were freed when they became teachers for children. And here they are being deprived of their basic right
“Similarly, for the first time ever, they’ve introduced this system where religion is displayed on the Roll Number slips. “
The next inevitable step is to display the particular sect being followed.... and then what?
"......religion is displayed on the Roll Number slips."
Is this the level of intolerance being propagated by the bigots, who claim to be followers of the Rahmat-lil-Alameen (saw)? Please remember he (saw) and is the Rahmat-lil-Alameem and not only Rahmat-lil-Muslameen.
The Punjab government should immediately de-nationalize the Ahmadi educational institutions, nationalized by Z. A. Bhutto. All others schools in the province have been de-nationalized and handed over to their orignal owners.
Is this the teachings of Holy Prophet Muhammad(saw)? Which Islam is being practiced in Pakistan?
Ahmadis should migrate en mass from Pakistan to follow in the foot steps of the Muslims who were forced to migrate 1,400 years ago when they were faced with similar persecution and oppression that the Ahmadis are being subjected to.
NAZIS.
Future of my favorite country is very bright.
"Similarly, for the first time ever, they’ve introduced this system where religion is displayed on the Roll Number slips. "
WOW, just wow. Way to go pakistan.
