QUETTA: The federal government has taken some initiatives in its pursuit  of a “3D” (dialogue, development, and deterrence) policy for Balochistan and retain peace in the region, reliable sources in the provincial home department said.

According to the sources, the government has invited insurgents and Baloch nationalist leaders for a dialogue to eliminate the trust deficit between the people of Balochistan and the federal government. The PPP-led coalition is also taking measures in development projects to facilitate the people and improve their standard of living. The Agaz-i-Huqooq package is part of the government policy to address the long standing grievances of the insurgency-stricken province. Around 3,500 appointment letters have been issued to those unemployed. The home department seems to be satisfied with the outcome of the federal government policy in Balochistan.

“A positive change has been observed after the issuance of appointment letters to unemployed youth, because most of them were engaged in creating law and order situation,” a senior officer of the home department told The Express Tribune.
