Old Currency: Sargodha woman loses savings

SARGODHA: Sargodha resident Chak No29 resident Kausar Bibi has lost Rs45,000 she said she had saved for her daughter’s wedding because she failed to change the old design 500 rupee notes exchanged for the new design notes before the last date for abolition of the old design notes. She said she found out about her loss when she went to market to purchase dowry items. “I was never told that the currency notes had to be exchanged before October 1,” she said. “All my money was in the form of Rs500 notes,” she said.

Just a sad story. I don't think she was the only one who fell victim to the change.
