The National Highways and Motorway Police N-5 Central has started an enforcement campaign to ensure that motorcyclists wear safety helmets and follow other regulations on national highways.
NHMP officials will brief motorcyclists on rules on wearing helmets, making U-turns, driving licences, one-way routes, careless driving, rear view mirrors and overloading. The campaign will last till October 14.
Banners containing road safety slogans have been put up and special road safety stalls set up at all toll plazas from Lahore to Rahim Yar Khan. N-5 Central DIG Fateh Sher Joyia instructed patrol officers to carry on briefing motorcyclists after the campaign is officially over as “they are the most careless among all types of road users and most vulnerable to serious accidents”.
