LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Tuesday expressed displeasure over the non-payment of salaries to 60 legal advisors of Pakistan Railways and summoned its financial advisor and chief accountant for Wednesday (today). Chaudhry Shah Muhammad told the court that PR had issued him a cheque of Rs10,000 for his services as a legal advisor but the cheque bounced. The judge remarked that the railways authorities had been telling lies to the court for the last year and this would not be tolerated any more. He said officials were sitting idle while the department was losing millions of rupees.  Assistant Advocate General Abdul Hameed Anjum told the court that PR had followed court orders by issuing cheques to the legal advisors and now it was up to the Finance Department to release the funds.
