KHANEWAL: Dozens of locals held and flogged two men who were allegedly trying to kidnap a ten-year-old girl on Monday evening. According to the people, residents in Khanewal handed over the two men after they had beaten them with sticks and they confessed to the crime. The incident occurred in Chak 79-10R, where the two accused Allah Data and Nadeem tried to abduct a fifth grader, Shaheen, on the pretext of helping her fix a sewing machine. When the girl shouted for help, dozens of locals came to her aid and beat up the men. According to resident Latif, one of the accused had also snatched mobile phone and money from him at gunpoint. Police officials have registered a case and are investigating.
