Factory owners in the area beat up three brothers one of them was found on their rooftop on Monday evening. According to police officials, Kamonke area Toliki residents’ brothers Muhammad Ramzan, Shafaqat Ali and Mustafa accused thread factory owner Munawar, Sarwar and their workers of beating them up with sticks after their younger brother had gone on their roof to recover his kite. “Munawwar’s men locked us up in a room and beat us for over 5 hours until our family called the police. They said they would keep us there all day if they had to.
They accused us of stealing, even though my brother was just getting his kite,” said Ramzan.
When two of the brothers fainted the men left them in the street and fled.
“One has a concussion and is being treated,” said DHQ Hospital Dr Sheikh. Shafaqat Ali said his brother Mustafa had gone on the rooftop to retrieve his kite.
The factory owners accused him of theft and beat them. “When we said he had just been getting his kite they said that since the kite was on their roof he was still stealing it,” he added.
Doctors have issued a medical report confirming torture and police have registered a case on Ali’s complaint.
