A 10-member women’s team will leave from Karachi and will participate in an international tournament after a gap of four years, according to the Pakistan Netball Federation Secretary Mudassir Arain,
“We won a bronze at the South Asian games four years ago and this is the chance for us to win a championship,” Arain told The Express Tribune. “Our players have been training for a month and we’re confident. Sri Lanka and India will be our toughest opponents.”
Meanwhile, the Pakistan handball team is currently participating at the Asian Beach Championship in Muscat and will join the rest of the contingent in Colombo.
However, the Pakistan Kabaddi Federation Secretary Muhammad Sarwar has pinned medal hopes on his team and said that Pakistan, who won a silver medal in the South Asian Games 2010, have the strongest chance in the discipline. “We’re confident that we will win a gold medal,” said Sarwar. “I see an India versus Pakistan final. We’ve handpicked a squad from among the 12 best players in the country.”
