Floodwater drainage: District administration to provide Rs2m

HYDERABAD: A committee, consisting of four members, has been set up by the provincial fisheries minister, Zahid Ali Bhurgari, who is also the acting chairman of District Relief Committee Hyderabad. The committee will examine, evaluate and decide how to drain the standing rainwater from Husri, Tando Fazal and Seri union councils of Hyderabad Rural taluka. An executive engineer each from the irrigation department, public health engineering department, Sindh Irrigation and Drainage Authority and Water and Sanitation Authority will form the committee. It has been directed to visit the areas, observe the land, identify ways of safe disposal and submit a final report on Monday. Bhurgari said that the district administration will provide Rs2 million, machinery and manpower.
