MANSEHRA:

A high-level delegation of United States Agency for International Development and CDM Construction Consortium visited the Hazara University (HU) on Friday to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the construction of an academic block for its Pre-Step (Hons) programme.

The delegation was led by Dr Mahmoodul Hasan Butt and Dr Mary. Several officers of the Hazara University were also present on the occasion.

The delegation assured the HU management that the academic block would serve as a great addition to the campus.

The academic block, whose construction is scheduled to be completed next year, would consist of classrooms, auditoriums, laboratories and libraries, which will be equipped with modern facilities for students and faculty members.

Butt claimed that the Pre-Step programme would enable teachers to get comprehensive training in teaching, which is the “greatest requirement” for Pakistan at the moment.

The honours degree will replace the old training certificates and degrees in a gradual manner, he added.
