Graduation day: 140 students graduate from FAST-NU Peshawar

Fast-NU Rector Dr Amir Muhammad urged the students to uphold the university’s traditions.

A total of 140 students graduated from National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences Peshawar’s (FAST-NU) on its 26th convocation ceremony here on Saturday.


Fast-NU Rector Dr Amir Muhammad, the chief guest, urged the students to uphold the university’s traditions of integrity, hard work and honesty.

“These values have been upheld by the institution and will help the students in pursuing a successful career. Our purpose is not just to produce scientists, engineers and business professionals. We want to produce honourable and sincere people for the betterment of the country,” he said.

He urged the students to fulfil their responsibilities and advised them to continue to achieve higher education in their respective fields. He said graduates and current students should not worry about financial constraints in pursuing further education, as they could avail the university’s student loan facility in all the four campuses.

Fast-NU Director Dr Sahibzada Ghiasul Haq, in his address to students, said that the institute was planning to launch new graduate and post-graduate programmes, including Masters in Maths leading to PhD, Masters in Computer Science leading to PhD, Masters in Electrical Engineering and Masters in Business Administration.

He said the institution’s achievements openly spoke of the dedication and hard work of the faculty, administration and the students.

Fast-NU General Secretary Rana Ghulam Shabbir, Member Board of Governors Justice (retd) Mian Muhammad Ajmal and Fast-NU Dean M Ayub Alvi were also present on the occasion.
