Pakistan and Sudan on Saturday signed an agreement allowing holders of official and diplomatic passports to travel between the two countries without obtaining visas.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and his Sudanese counterpart, Lieutenant General Babiker Samra Mustafa Ali, signed the agreement in Islamabad.

Speaking on the occasion, Naqvi described the agreement as an important milestone in bilateral relations between Pakistan and Sudan.

“The facility would further facilitate high-level contacts between the two countries,” he added.

Speaking on the occasion, the Sudanese interior minister said the agreement would help strengthen friendly relations and promote institutional cooperation between the two countries.

Pakistan has signed similar agreements with several countries in recent years to facilitate travel for diplomats and government officials.

Pakistan and Italy also signed an agreement in June this year abolishing visa requirements for diplomatic passport holders, aimed at facilitating exchanges between the two countries.

Earlier in January, Pakistan and Somalia also signed an agreement to waive visa requirements for diplomatic passport holders.

Last year, in July, Pakistan and Bangladesh agreed to allow holders of diplomatic and official passports to enter each other's countries without visas.

Pakistan also signed a similar arrangement with the United Arab Emirates in June 2025, granting visa exemptions to holders of diplomatic and official passports. The agreement came into effect on July 25 of the same year.

In April 2025, Pakistan and Hungary signed an agreement abolishing visa requirements for diplomatic passport holders.
