At least eight people, including women and children, were killed and 28 others injured when a passenger bus collided with a dumper near Havelian Interchange on the Hazara Motorway early Friday, rescue officials said.
The accident occurred at around 5am, about one kilometre from the interchange, as the bus was travelling from Gilgit to Rawalpindi. The collision caused extensive damage to the bus.
Initial reports suggested that the bus driver lost control after a tyre burst, causing the vehicle to crash into the dumper.
