MITHI:

An overnight grave, draped in a green cloth, has stirred a bizarre controversy at Gadhi Bhit, a popular recreational spot in Mithi, prompting an administrative response and the arrest of a man who allegedly admitted to constructing the fake burial site.

The unusual discovery was reported by residents, who alerted the authorities after finding a freshly made grave at the hilltop attraction, where no grave had existed before. Assistant Commissioner Mithi Umair Ashraf rushed to the site with revenue officials, while Tharparkar SSP Arif Aziz also took notice of the incident.

Mithi police subsequently arrested a local, identified as Mir Hassan Sangrasi. According to SHO Mithi Pitamber Sharma, the suspect admitted to having constructed the grave and later removed it before police reached the spot.

During questioning, Sangrasi reportedly claimed that he was a driver and had been passing through the area two days earlier when he heard a voice instructing him to build a shrine. He said he subsequently returned with another person and constructed the grave.
