Ethiopia invites Pakistani investors
.

Ethiopian Ambassador to Pakistan Dr Oumer Hussien Oba has invited Pakistani businesses to explore investment and trade in Ethiopia, citing competitive energy costs, industrial infrastructure, investment incentives and a growing economy, at a meeting of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).
He said Ethiopia, with a population of over 130 million, offered opportunities in manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and textiles, and was opening more sectors to international investment, with efforts under way to address regulatory challenges facing Pakistani pharmaceutical companies.
He described Ethiopia as a gateway to African markets.
The Ethiopian embassy in Islamabad will lead a Pakistani business delegation to Ethiopia from January 24 to 29, 2027.
LCCI President Ali Hussam Asghar said trade figures did not reflect the relationship's potential, with Pakistan's exports to Ethiopia at about $5.1 million against Ethiopian exports to Pakistan of approximately $14.5 million.
