Curry Barker reveals hidden detail in ‘Obsession’ that fans may have missed
Inde Navarrette also reveals a deleted scene showing Bear searching for Nikki

Curry Barker and Inde Navarrette have revealed eerie details hidden in Obsession, giving fans fresh reasons to revisit the 2026 horror film.
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the director and actress discussed details viewers might have overlooked, including an unsettling photograph connected to Bear, played by Michael Johnston, and Nikki, portrayed by Navarrette.
Navarrette first pointed to the altar featured towards the end of the film. She explained that Bear’s hair appears there because Nikki repeatedly cuts it. The collection of objects also includes his lunchbox and photographs, adding further significance to the scene.
Barker then drew attention to a detail involving two photographs inside Bear’s lunchbox. In an earlier scene, Bear discovers pictures labelled “you” and “not me”. The labels refer to images of Bear alone and Bear with Nikki.
According to Barker, the photograph marked “you” contains a particularly unsettling clue. He explained that the image was taken from a high angle, with Navarrette describing its perspective as looking downwards.
The interviewer suggested that the photograph might have been taken from the bed, but Barker questioned that explanation, pointing out that Nikki would have been positioned too high for that viewpoint.
The discussion also revealed that a scene involving Bear searching for Nikki was removed from the finished film. Navarrette described the sequence as a “sick scene”, explaining that Bear walks around calling out for Nikki and asking where she is.
In the deleted moment, Nikki responds that she is “just in the room”.
Although the scene did not make the final cut, the revelation has given viewers another detail to consider when revisiting the film. The filmmakers’ comments also highlight how seemingly ordinary objects and images contribute to the unsettling atmosphere of Obsession.
