When asked for further details, Campbell remained cautious about revealing information surrounding the sequel but confirmed her involvement, stating: “You know, I can never tell you anything about Scream 8. I’ll be in it.”

Campbell's return continues her association with the franchise, having missed Scream VI in 2023 following a reported salary dispute.

She subsequently returned for Scream 7, released in February 2026, reprising her role as the series' central character.

The seventh film reportedly earned $207 million worldwide, compared with $166 million for its predecessor, demonstrating continued audience interest in the horror series.

Although plans for an eighth film were reportedly underway around the release of Scream 7, Campbell's latest comments provide confirmation of her participation.

Further details about the storyline, supporting cast and production schedule have yet to be announced.

For now, fans can look forward to seeing Campbell return as Sidney Prescott in the next chapter of the Scream franchise.
