Pakistan, Tajikistan to boost trade ties
Toir says direct links among manufacturers, exporters and buyers could help businesses explore new markets

Tajikistan's Ambassador Sharifzoda Yousuf Toir has called for stronger economic engagement between Pakistan and Tajikistan, saying the two countries have significant potential to diversify bilateral trade, promote investment and expand business-to-business cooperation.
Speaking at the Pakistan Textile Exporters Association (PTEA), the ambassador said both countries were committed to strengthening the economic dimension of their relationship and translating their longstanding ties into tangible benefits for businesses.
He said bilateral trade stood at $43 million in 2025, while the two governments had set a target of increasing it to $200 million over the next three years.
Achieving the target would require sustained engagement, stronger commercial links and closer coordination between businesses and relevant institutions in both countries.
Highlighting opportunities for cooperation between the textile sectors of the two countries, Toir said direct links among manufacturers, exporters and buyers could help businesses explore new markets, identify complementary capabilities and establish long-term commercial partnerships.
He stressed the need to improve exporters' access to information about tariffs, product standards, buyer requirements and transport arrangements.
