Welcoming the Chinese official and his delegation, the prime minister said, “Pakistan and China enjoy an ironclad, time-tested and All-Weather Strategic Cooperative partnership.”
PM Shehbaz also underscored that Pakistan-China friendship was anchored in mutual trust, mutual respect and deep-rooted bonds between the peoples of both countries.
He also appreciated the role of the IDCPC in promoting institutional linkages and cooperation between the political leadership of the two countries, while emphasising the importance of sustained political engagement and inter-party exchanges to bolster ties.
Reaffirming Pakistan's commitment to working closely with Beijing, the prime minister highlighted the shared focus on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, connectivity, infrastructure development, information technology and agricultural modernisation.
The prime minister later hosted a banquet in honour of the visiting Chinese dignitary and his delegation.

He also emphasised the importance of sustained high-level engagement, stronger institutional linkages and expanded cooperation across areas of mutual interest.
The ISPR said the visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s contributions to regional peace and stability and expressed confidence in further advancing the longstanding strategic partnership between Pakistan and China.
The visit also coincides with the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China. The two countries established diplomatic ties on May 21, 1951, and have since expanded their cooperation across political, economic, diplomatic and security domains.
Haixing is visiting Pakistan on the invitation of Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. During his stay, he is scheduled to call on the country's leadership and co-chair a high-level event with Dar.
In another report published today, The Express Tribune noted that Haixing's maiden visit to Pakistan reflects Beijing's push to deepen ties beyond conventional government-to-government diplomacy.
The IDCPC, which Haixing heads, serves as Beijing's principal channel for party-to-party diplomacy, maintaining links with ruling and opposition political parties and facilitating exchanges on governance, development and international affairs.

In May this year, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's visit to China culminated in a renewed commitment by both countries to deepen their partnership, maintain high-level exchanges and strengthen defence and security cooperation under the 2025-2029 action plan.
Defence cooperation has remained a key pillar of bilateral relations.
During CDF Munir's visit to Beijing in July 2025, he held meetings with senior Chinese political and military leadership, including Vice President Han Zheng and officials of the People's Liberation Army.
Discussions covered defence and security cooperation, counterterrorism collaboration, joint training, defence modernisation and stronger institutional linkages.
Both sides also reaffirmed their commitment to expanding military-to-military cooperation and promoting regional peace and stability.
