Bill Maher responds to Donald Trump's criticism with Taylor Swift comparison during his latest monologue

Bill Maher has responded to US President Donald Trump after the latter called the HBO host a “complete and total loser” in a lengthy post on Truth Social.

However, Maher's comeback also brought Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce and his wife, Taylor Swift, into the exchange.

The dispute followed a dinner attended by Maher, Trump and sports commentator Stephen A. Smith.

The meeting apparently prompted Trump to publish a 1,300-word rant about the Real Time host, in which he criticised Maher and described him as a “complete and total loser”.

During a recent episode of Real Time, Maher addressed Trump's comments in a monologue lasting more than four minutes.

One part of his response featured a comparison involving Swift, who is married to Kelce.

“Did you see the 1,300-word tweet he sent out? Longest ever. Kind of a flex. Eating with Trump is like dating Taylor Swift,” Maher said.

He continued, “It's a lot of laughs at the time, but later on, they're tearing you a new a______.”
