Five killed as driver allegedly dozes off at wheel
At least five people were killed and more than 30 others injured when a passenger bus carrying over 65 people plunged into a stormwater drain near Fatteki Flyover in Hafizabad district, reportedly after the driver fell asleep at the wheel while driving at high speed.
According to Rescue 1122 officials, the passengers were travelling to Chenab Nagar in Chiniot district to attend a religious gathering when the accident occurred.
The bus reportedly went out of control near the flyover and fell into the drain.
The deceased were identified as Arslan, Muhammad Ali, Adil, Muhammad Muzakkar Mubeen and Muhammad Ahmad.
