Motorists booked for mall drifting

LAHORE:

Police registered a case against several motorists for performing drifting stunts in the basement of a shopping mall in the Defence area.

The case was registered at Defence B police station on the complaint of traffic police after videos of the stunts went viral on social media. The videos showed about 30 vehicles being driven recklessly near the mall, with several individuals, including Bilal Malik and Ghulam Murtaza, allegedly involved in drifting manoeuvres in the basement.

According to the complaint, the drivers engaged in speeding, zigzag driving and dangerous stunts, putting the lives and property of citizens at risk.

The use of fake or non-standard number plates on some of the vehicles was also reported.

The police initiated action under the relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Ordinance. Four young men were killed in a road accident while allegedly engaged in drifting in Defence Phase VI a few days ago.
