Education boards fill key posts after three years
.

After a delay of two-and-a-half to three years, the Punjab Higher Education Department has finally filled vacant posts of secretaries and controllers of examinations at all nine educational boards across the province.
Formal notifications have also been issued.
The posts had been managed on an ad hoc basis by assigning additional charge to junior administrative officers, leaving the functioning of all nine boards severely paralysed.
Punjab's nine educational boards had remained without regular secretaries and examination controllers for nearly three years.
However, the appointments have been made for only 18 months instead of the three-year tenure stipulated under the rules.
According to the notification, four women education officers have been appointed as secretaries of educational boards for the first time, while one woman education officer has been appointed controller of examinations.
The Punjab Higher Education Department has issued the notification.
According to the notification, Professor Zulqif Umair Shah will serve as secretary of the Rawalpindi Board, while Professor Mubashir Saeed has been appointed controller of examinations at the Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.
Ghulam Shabbir has been appointed secretary of the Faisalabad Board, Urooj Fatima of the Sargodha Board, Sobia Sultan of the Bahawalpur Board, Sidra Batool of the Dera Ghazi Khan Board, Azeem Afzal of the Multan Board and Nasira Bashir of the Sahiwal Board.
