Natalie Portman shares first comments after welcoming third baby with Tanguy Destable
The actress says becoming a mother again has deepened her appreciation for her older children

Natalie Portman has opened up about welcoming her third child, describing the experience as a source of “wonder and joy” as she adjusts to life with a new baby and her two older children.
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar published on October 26, the 45 year old actress spoke about her growing family in her first public comments since the birth. Portman welcomed her third baby in Paris in August with her partner, French music producer Tanguy Destable.
“I am full of wonder and joy at this magical little human,” Portman said, reflecting on the arrival of her newest child.
The Black Swan star also explained that having a baby again has made her look at her older children with renewed appreciation. She shares daughter Amelia, 9, and son Aleph, 14, with her former husband, choreographer Benjamin Millepied.
Portman said the experience reminded her how quickly children grow from newborns into individuals with distinct personalities, humour and ideas. Her comments highlighted how becoming a parent again has influenced the way she views her older children and their development.
The actress had announced her pregnancy in April, telling that she and Destable were excited and that she felt grateful for the experience.
She also described this pregnancy as calmer than her previous experiences, explaining that greater self awareness had helped her appreciate the people and atmosphere around her. Portman said she was cherishing each moment, recognising that it might be her final pregnancy.
Portman and Destable were first publicly linked in 2025.
