Amanda Seyfried’s limited series The Dropout has experienced a major surge in viewership following the theatrical release of Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim’s documentary You Can See Everything, which examines disgraced Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes.

According to entertainment analytics company Luminate, The Dropout attracted approximately 105,000 views between October 16 and October 22, 2026. That figure represented a 700% increase from the roughly 13,000 views recorded during the previous week.

The series also saw a sharp rise on October 17, when viewership reportedly climbed 400% compared with the previous day.

Released in cinemas by A24, You Can See Everything features Holmes watching portions of The Dropout, the 2022 Hulu drama in which Seyfried portrays the former technology executive. Holmes had previously avoided watching the series, according to the report.

The documentary also features Seyfried discussing her performance with Fielder. In a further twist, the actress reprises her portrayal of Holmes in newly staged scenes that extend the story beyond the events depicted in the miniseries.

These sequences include recreations involving Holmes, her husband Billy Evans and the documentary filmmakers, as well as a scene set in federal prison. Holmes is serving an 11-year sentence following her conviction for defrauding investors in Theranos.

The renewed interest in The Dropout follows the documentary’s strong theatrical performance. According to the figures cited by Forbes, You Can See Everything earned $15.6m during its opening weekend before expanding into wider release. Its reported domestic box office total subsequently reached $45.1m.

Created by Elizabeth Meriwether, The Dropout dramatises the rise and collapse of Theranos, the blood-testing company founded by Holmes. Seyfried won a Primetime Emmy Award for her performance, with the series receiving six nominations overall.
