JoJo Siwa reveals she and Chris Hughes independently picked the same dream engagement ring design by coincidence

JoJo Siwa has revealed a surprising coincidence with boyfriend Chris Hughes, sharing that the couple independently chose the exact same engagement ring design while discussing their hopes for the future.

The singer and dancer, 23, disclosed the story during an exclusive interview with PEOPLE at the Industry Dance Awards in Los Angeles on October 21. Siwa explained that although she wanted Hughes, 33, to design a future engagement ring himself, she had already imagined what her dream ring would look like.

“I told my mom, I said, ‘Whenever he asks you, [tell him] I want him to design it completely. I want it to be completely his design,’” Siwa said, referring to her mother, Jessalyn Siwa.

However, during a dinner together, the couple decided to reveal their ideas for her dream ring simultaneously. Siwa recalled searching online for a design she liked before asking Hughes to show her his choice on the count of three.

“One, two, three. And we flipped it. And we were holding the same photo from Google!” she said, describing the ring as having a blue emerald shape. Siwa added that the chances of them selecting the same design were “so slim”.

The couple's relationship appears to be going strong, with Siwa describing things between them as “lovely”. They were approaching their 18-month anniversary at the time of the interview.

Siwa and Hughes met in April 2025 while competing on Celebrity Big Brother UK. Their friendship developed into a romance, which they confirmed in June that year.

The pair have also spoken openly about their hopes for marriage and children. In July 2025, Hughes told Us Weekly that they had discussed their future together, describing these conversations as exciting when two people are deeply in love.

Siwa has previously credited Hughes as the inspiration behind her March 2026 single, “Serendipity”, explaining that their unexpected meeting influenced the song.

Although the couple have discussed marriage, Siwa's latest revelation centres on their shared ring preference rather than a confirmed engagement.
