KARACHI:

The Accessibility Beyond Barriers Conference 2026, organised by Boltay Huroof at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), highlighted the importance of Braille educational materials and assistive technology in enabling blind and visually impaired individuals to access education and everyday information independently.

The conference brought together educationists, government officials, young people and representatives of various sections of society to discuss ways to promote inclusive education and remove barriers faced by persons with visual impairments.

Speakers observed that unavailability of textbooks and other written materials in Braille made it difficult for visually impaired students to study alongside their sighted peers and access information independently.

A panel discussion on inclusive education examined these challenges and explored how schools, government institutions and technology providers could work together to improve educational accessibility.
