Govt committed to eradicate polio: CM
.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has reaffirmed his government's commitment to eradicating polio, declaring that no negligence, complacency or compromise will be tolerated in the fight against the crippling disease.
In his message on World Polio Day, the chief minister said protecting every child in the province from polio remained a top government priority and a national responsibility.
Expressing concern over the continued presence of the virus, he said Pakistan and Afghanistan remained the only two countries in the world where wild poliovirus was still endemic.
Although significant progress had been made in containing the virus, it is still a serious challenge in high-risk areas, he added.
The chief minister urged parents to ensure that every child under the age of five receives polio drops during each vaccination campaign.
Paying tribute to frontline polio workers performing their duties under challenging circumstances, Murad described them as 'guardians of children's future'.
He said the World Polio Day theme, "One Day, One Focus: Ending Polio Forever," was not merely a global slogan but a shared responsibility requiring collective action.
