Rs166b allocated for irrigation projects

State Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Dr Shezra Mansab Ali Khan Kharal told the National Assembly on Friday that provincial governments had allocated around Rs166 billion for development projects related to irrigation and flood protection in the fiscal year 2025-26.
Responding to questions during the question hour, she said the allocations were part of broader efforts to strengthen the country's resilience to climate-related disasters. She said provincial governments had also earmarked around Rs93 billion for current expenditure on irrigation services in 2025-26.
