LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday allowed the Punjab Police inspector general more time to find the vehicle and arrest the driver who allegedly ran over and killed Ibadur Rehman on the day that CIA contractor Raymond Davis shot and killed two men at Qurtaba Chowk. The Punjab government, in a written report to the court, said that the US Consulate, from where the vehicle and driver originated, was refusing to cooperate with their investigation. It said diplomatic efforts were underway to arrest the accused. The IG, appearing before the court, said the police needed more time to make the arrest. The counsel for petitioner Sajjadur Rehman, Ibadur Rehman’s brother, submitted that the police had done nothing to find the driver or vehicle.
