Naqvi assures Laiba's family of justice

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Wednesday visited the residence of deceased Laiba Ijaz in Sector G-10, Islamabad, to offer condolences to her family and brief them on the progress so far in the case.
The minister's visit followed the killing of the principal accused, who allegedly defrauded International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) student Laiba in the name of a US visa. The frustrated girl later committed suicide.
Accompanied by Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Naqvi offered Fateha and prayed for the departed soul, according to the Ministry of Interior's spokesperson.
The interior minister told the bereaved family that the entire team had worked tirelessly on the case and that fulfilling the promise made to them was a duty.
"Our entire team worked day and night on Laiba's case. Fulfilling the promise we made to you was our responsibility," Naqvi said.
Laiba's father, Ijaz Ahmed, expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and the interior minister, saying the family had heard that the state was like a mother but had now witnessed it for themselves.
