Biometrics for UC certificates launched

LAHORE:

The Punjab government has introduced biometric verification for issuing birth, death and marriage certificates from union councils to prevent fraudulent registrations and ensure transparency.

Local Government Minister Zeeshan Rafique inaugurated the Civil Registration Management System (CRMS) in Sheikhupura on Friday. The system will require biometric verification against Nadra's database before certificates are issued.
