ISLAMABAD:

The Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) inaugurated a landmark solo exhibition titled "What Remains to Be Seen" which features the works of distinguished impressionist painter NusratJi at the National Art Gallery, Islamabad.

NusratJi is one of Pakistan's most distinguished impressionist painters with over 25 solo exhibitions and extensive international exhibitions across the UK, Canada, USA, UAE, Bahrain, and beyond. She has made a significant contribution to Pakistan's visual arts landscape.

The "What Remains to Be Seen" exhibition is divided into two galleries: Gallery 1, which presents the 'immersive experience' featuring projected imagery, light and sound, and Gallery 2, which comprises 'drawing & painting' exhibits featuring original paintings and 50 drawing studies. The exhibition is an immersive visual experience exploring memory, perception and the shifting space between what is seen and what remains unseen.

Addressing the audience at the inauguration ceremony, NusratJi talked about her artistic journey spanning over four decades.

In her statement, she said, "If colour has its charm, line has its own ecstasy." She explained that the exhibition features 100 studies alongside original paintings, drawn from life around her and it features the Thar Series, folklore, horses, architecture, calligraphy and nature, all of which carry energy, action and an inner rhythm of its own.

Other speakers at the ceremony included Dr Arjumand Faisel, Dr Mamoona Khan and Mr. Sajjad Haider. They spoke about Nusrat's paintings, drawings and the concept of the immersive exhibition.
